:yay::yay:ll of our guest rooms are not fully renovated at this time. Our premium rooms are our fully renovated rooms. These are large rooms with two queen beds or one king bed with all new furniture, bedding, linens and soft goods, carpet, paint, lighting, renovated bathrooms, and 32" flat screen TV's. Our premium rooms are on the 2-4th floor of our four-story building and offer a view of the Disneyland Fireworks from the common balcony area in front of your room. All of our rooms offer refrigerator and microwave as well. We do not offer in room safes at this time, however, we do have safety deposit boxes available at the front desk. The premium rooms differ from our standard and deluxe rooms simply due to the renovations and room, bedding size. We are continuing to update and renovate are rooms and will start more rooms after summer. I hope this information has helped guide you to make a decision that will work out best for your family. Please feel free to ask any other questions or you can contact me directly at the property. Thank you for your interest. Jessica

HotelJO - can you tell me the difference in the Standard & Deluxe & Premium rooms? I have a reservation for a Deluxe room and am curious.

Thanks in advance.

I've been watching this thread too since I've been curious. I have been considering the Ramada Maingate for a quick weekend trip in the fall but haven't been able to match up the tips I've read with the hotel's main website. Have all of this property's rooms been refurbished or just certain ones? What constitutes a premium room? What amenities does a premium room have that a regular room does not have? Also, do any of the rooms have in-room safes?

No from our experience not every room has been refurbished - the top 2 floors at the back certainly have , No they dont have in room safes , thats a flaw IMHO - there are safes at the front office however , the premium rooms are bigger , pillow top beds , microwave , fridge ,aircon (quiet) , LCD TVs , new carpets etc . Walking past some of the older rooms there is quite a difference . Premium rooms also have views of the fireworks , Hotel has a great pool area too , we would stay here again without hesitation but ONLY in a premium room.

We have stayed at the Ramada before- in one of the old rooms. We plan on staying again in October in a new room. The pool and proximity was the deciding factor- the pool is saline, not chlorine- so easy on the eyes, and it is more refreshing. And you can't get much closer, lol!:goodvibes

Thanks for this info! It was the deciding factor in me booking a premium room for the first week in August (OK it helped that I found a great per night rate on their website) :thumbsup2 My DD loves pools, but, her eyes are very sensitive so she's looking forward to being able to swim during her birthday trip :)

I'm on the Ramada Maingate website and after putting in my dates, etc there is no place to choose a "premium" room.

So how do you know if you get one?

Try putting in LPW2 for your promotional code. It will be a premium room for $99 a night. It will tell you what it is in the offer description.

That's what I did, but, the room we got was $129 instead of $199 (reg rate).

At the HoJo we have a highway view and I am afraid that the noise will be too much for us. I think I am going with the Ramada because we did reserve a newly redone room.

I am staying at the Hojo now and have had no problem with noise at all. The room is very nice and staff is helpful in tending to your needs. The kids water play area is great. We have stayed at Ramada in the past and have not been as satisfied. Actually, we were more bothered by the noise from people playing in the pool, leaving early in the morning or coming back late at night than the freeway, which we never heard.

We stayed hojo building 1 facing the freeway and you can hear the freeway all night long.

Now we have stayed at the hojo other times in other buildings and it was great no noise at all.

And really you cant really beat the entertainment rate.

We stayed at the HOJO last week in building 1 and the freeway noise didn't bother DH or the kids, but it kept me up. It was cool outside, so having the A/C on helped with the noise, but we froze. We didn't feel like the HOJO was seedy at all, as someone suggested. The rooms were nicely done. The kids LOVED the splash park, but 12 and 16 yr olds wouldn't care about it. The regular pool was nice as well. We loved having the separate room and bathroom for the kids, but if that isn't an issue, I'd go with the Fairfield.

Hi there!

First time Disneyland trip in the works.
I just booked the Ramada based on the good reviews here. I booked a deluxe room ( the agent said most rooms are being redone, and might be complete by March so I didnt book premium.) Hope I did the right thing!

My question is now that I am booked, I see on the DIS under DL resorts, good neighbour hotels/motels that Ramada is a value resort, and Fairfield and HOJO ( my other 2 choices) are moderate.

That has me a bit worried. What are your thoughts?

We are a family of 5 and really just want a clean safe place to rest our heads after a day at the parks. Fairfield was $129 a night, HOJO was $110 and Ramada was $99, again for the deluxe room. The free breakfast was the closer for us, (although I see a Mcdonalds close by), so I went for the best deal. Am I going to regret not paying the extra for a few nights?
Im not familiar at all with the area.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

I am staying at the Ramada Maingate in one of the premium rooms in Sept. I would not stay in a room that had not been competely renovated, because of a lot of negative reviews I've read about the older unrenovated rooms. I think all of these hotels/motels would be a safe place to stay so I wouldn't worry there. However, having stayed at HoJo before I would stay there if they had room availability (which for my dates they do not), and absolutely if the entertainment card/annual passholder rate was available. It can't be beat. Lastly, about breakfast. McDonalds is closer to The HoJo end of the street and I've read that the Ramada breakfast is bare minimum. So, I would just keep those things in mind.

Is there any pictures of the large family suite at the Ramada Maingate?Thinking about booking there but i can not find any pictures of the room
