Fairfield Inn VS. Sheraton Park

Hello all,

I'm having a tough time trying decide between these two.

I like that Fairfield is so close. But my wife likes a HOTEL better. We have 2 kids, 7 and 14. The price difference is only about $100 on the packages I was looking at. Reviews of the Fairfield on Tripadvisor lately haven't been the best. I think I'm leaning towards the Sheraton, but that walking distance is tempting. I like the Hojo but my wife didn't enjoy to beds the last time we stayed there.

Anyone out there stayed at both the Fairfield and Sheraton Park?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

The Sheraton is definitely better. But it is inconvinient distance wise, that is why is has to go at a bargain rate.

Stay a Sheraton elsewhere. Enjoy staying somewhere close to DLR. It will make things simple and enjoyable.

I like the Hojo but my wife didn't enjoy to beds the last time we stayed there.

Beds are a pretty subjective and personal experience, but I noticed in your ticker that you listed Hojo last in 2007. Have you stayed there since? I know the bedding has been upgraded in the building 1 and 2 rooms in the last few years, I just can't remember when. It might have happened though since your last stay. I can remember the older Hojo beds, and I do feel like the new ones are an improvement. My bias is to stay at a walking distance hotel if you can find one you like.

The Sheraton Anaheim is great and had it's own shuttle. I stay there all the time. The Hilton and towers often has prices og $89.00 a night and it is gorgeous.

I have stayed at the Sheraton Park twice - it is the only hotel I will stay at when I am offsite (I usually stay onsite). I really like it and found the walk to be fine. It is actually a little less than walking from the DLH. Do you have any starwood points by chance? If so, it is not many points to upgrade to Club Level which is awesome. Here is an older thread on Sheraton Park:

BTW, since you said Sheraton Park, I assume you mean the one on Harbor. The shuttle mentioned in the pp is for the Sheraton Anaheim on Ball.

Just back from Sheraton Park....I was at a conference. We went to Disney Land one night, and Downtown Disney one night. The walk is very do-able. It was about 10 minutes, walking at a medium pace.

The hotel was extremely clean. Rooms are large (I thought so!) and I love the Sheraton beds. Pool was nice (just sat by it). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Used concierge a couple of times, and used the business center computers a couple of times.

Ate at Molly's 2x for breakfast. Service was kind of slow, and they did mess up an order one morning, but took $ off our bill. Food was OK. There was also a little convenience shop/coffee shop...pricey but convenient.

I'd stay there again...it was a very close walk to the convention center and many restaurants.:thumbsup2

At the end of a day of walking, I would NOT consider the Sheraton comfortable walking distance. However, if you are more "particular" about hotel accomodations, and want a classier place, you are better off with the Sheraton. If a hotel is just a minor consideration, I would definitely stay at the Fairfield, and save the bucks for purchases at DL. Fairfield is a decent hotel, but not a 4 star hotel, that it appears you are looking for.
