Anyone ever stay there? What were your likes/dislikes? Any suggestions on room location?

Just looking to book a place for the end of May, we would like something within walking distance as we have two young children....oh and we are driving 30 hours to get to Cali so we don't want to spend much time in the car while we are there.

If you didn't like the Fairfield Inn please include why and a possible alternative place to stay. Thanks :lovestruc

We stayed there for a couple of nights last October. It was nice. I have no complaints. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but in the same parking lot is an AWSOME place. Millie's. There is always a line up to eat there, but they do deliver to your room if you don't want to eat in. McDonald's is also close (in the next parking lot) so it was easy for breakfast. There is a little store that you can buy a few things in (drinks that kind of stuff), but we never checked it out. The only thing with parking at the hotel is that it is first come first serve. So if you find an awsome spot, take it and leave your car.

The walk over to the parks is really easy. We did have to carry DD home the second night, but it was after midnight when we left:laughing: .

Where abouts from Sask. are you driving from?

Oh! it was great! We had a great view of both Disneyland and California Adventure park. The hotel has Pizza Hut which I loved!!!!! The walking distance to Disneyland as around 4 minutes or so, maybe less!:) :thumbsup2 Have a great time! The hotel is really disney-like!

Thanks for your reply :) We are in Saskatoon, we are still deciding if we are going to drive to Lethbridge to Salt Lake City to California or if we are going to go straight to Salt Lake City to Cali, with the kids it is going to be tough but we have made several trips to BC (about 14 hours) and they have been fine so I'm thinking the extra two hours won't be that bad. Then the next day would be around 9 hours and we would be there. Who knows though?!?!

DD21 and I just stayed there. I will post pictures this weekend. It was clean, friendly and I loved the Disney pictures in the room. We had a fridge and a coffee pot but no microwave. The walk for two adults was easy breezy. I also just stayed at the Ramada on Harbor. I expected this hotel to be dingy..(I only paid $88 before tax) but I really liked this hotel. It's room had a microwave and a fridge. The beds were only doubles so that could be a problem for a family of four but it was no problem for DD and I.

My DD8 and I stayed there a few weeks ago and I liked it. Free parking and internet, room was clean and decorated nicely. There is a small food court, Seattle's Best and arcade on the 3rd floor. A little pricey but I need my morning latte so that was a selling point to me. My daughter was able to get cereal and milk and they had some other basic grocery items. The walk to the parks was easy. We also had a great view from our room on the 6th floor, if we had been there more than one night we would have been able to see the fireworks.

We stayed there for free in Dec b/c I used to work for Marriott. Aside from not having a free continental breakfast, there was nothing wrong with the hotel. I am very picky since I work at one.

We have a toddler and the walk was about 7.5 minutes from the lobby to the security area, briskly walking. As a PP mentioned, parking is an issue, so get there and don't move your car if you can help it.

We requested a crib, extra towels, and pillows, and everything was in our room upon arrival. It was very clean. We did hear our neighbors a few times, and the fireworks happen literally right in front of the hotel, so be aware of that if you little ones that go to bed early (like us!). If you don't mind the fireworks, ask for a park side view, and they'll put you on that side at no extra charge. Here are some pics. This is our room:

This is the bathroom area that we converted into our son's "room" so we could keep the light on while he slept :)

I then just walked down the hall and took these at sunrise as well:

Anyways, I'm not sure what the rates are, but it was very good and not like a motel at all, even though the hallways are outside. They have a pool and spa outside. There is a little market/Pizza Hut/coffee stand/arcade on the third floor as well.

Have fun!

Hey fellow Canadian! BC gal here. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn when we first went to Disneyland on our honeymoon. We loved it being so close to the park since we were flying in and didn't rent a car. The hotel is very clean and the pool was nice. We are going again in September, this time with our young daughter. (she will be 2 then) so we booked this hotel again because of our positive experience. :)

We have two kids under 5 and stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in April and had a great stay. Excellent location (it's a very easy walk to DL), clean, and friendly staff.

I loved having the Pizza Hut in the hotel. We also ate at Millie's several times. They offer a 99 cent kids meal with each adult meal - but the adult portions are so generous we didn't always order the kids meal.

You might want to ask for a room away from the pool, which can be noisy. You can definitely hear the fireworks...our room was facing the park on an upper floor (and we could see some of the fireworks). But both my kiddies were conked out by the time the fireworks started and they didn't budge during all the noise!

Thanks everyone, I couldn't get the stellar rate that everyone else seems to be getting at the HoJo but this hotel had a decent rate so I'm thinking we will book there. The only thing I don't like about it is if you have to cancel or change dates you can't and they keep the full stay deposit....I would lose lots of money if I had to cancel.

We stayed at the Fairfield early April. There were 10 of us. we had 2 ajoining(sp?) rooms.
We all enjoyed it. Beds were nice and comfy. Easy walk to DL. I didn't get pics of the room but we stayed on the top floor, this is the view right outside of our room. Overall we enjoyed our stay. My Nephew..

If you book through the Marriott website (www.marriott.com) you should be able to cancel without penalty (as long as you have some notice, which I think is 24 hours).

Just a little trivia, if you call their 1-888-236-2427 number to book your hotel, you will actually be calling and talking to someone in Saskatoon!

That is funny because that is where we are travelling from! We did end up booking there, I'm sure it is going to be great....it is close to the park and has had good reviews, it is just a place to sleep, the rest of the time we will be at the park. I asked for a room on a high floor and facing the park, I think the kids will love it. Thanks everyone for your help with my decision.
