Hi people,
After much back-and-forth in planning, I'm having a mini-family reunion (me, Mom, brother) in Disneyland Jan 24-28. We will stay at the Fairfield Inn, since I can use airline miles and Marriott points to help pay for the stay.

We are three adults (31, 40 and 72), and we do like our quiet hotel rooms. What advice do you have about rooms at the Fairfield? What should we request as far as views or quiet room locations? Is Millie's the right place to spend breakfast time? etc. etc... any advice is helpful and much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Ray

We stayed in the Fairfield in Dec. 2004. I dont recall a lot of noise. Just a small amount from people walking past the rooms while talking. Its "motel" style where the doors open to an outside walkway. Because of that, you have people walking past your door and window allowing noise in. It wasnt a lot of noise.

We had breakfast at Millies a couple of times. It was ok, nothing to write home about. When we stayed kids staying at the hotel ate free, and since we have 2 kids, it worked for us. I've heard better things about Mimi's next door, at Hojo's. Might be worth walking over and checking it out.

We were in a room on about the 3rd floor, facing the parking lot and pool. At the end of the walk way you could see the top of the matterhorn and a few other "tall" things in the park. But, there really isnt much of a view. Not sure if you can see fireworks, as we are usually in the park watching them if they are offered.

There's also a Marriott by the convention center that seems to get great reviews and has interior corridors which may be quieter for you guys. Not sure if you can use your points there or not.

We stayed there last year and we were up like on the 7th floor. Had a great view of the parks at night and the fireworks. We were there in April and kids would be swimming at 7-8 at night, Would not have wanted a room towards the bottom by the pool. That seemed the noisiest place.
here is a pic I got from our room

The one and only time we stayed at the Fairfield Inn the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. That really stunk!

Wow...that happened to us too! It was during the middle of the day when my baby was sleeping. Luckily it didn't wake him because he was exhausted. It is motel style so you can hear people outside. They also don't have any continental breakfast which surprised us. The rooms were clean and the service was good.
