I think I know what you mean and can relate to that...but I'm around here a lot of the time and I know someone else is also.

Yup, all too well. I'm a very loyal person by nature, if I accept you in my heart as a friend you gotta do something reallllly bad for me to not keep you as a friend. It hurts when people take friendship so lightly, especially to those of us who don't.

I had a "friend" that thinks sending a card once a year on Xmas and forwarding emails once in a blue moon is having a friendship.

She still thinks we are "friends". She really doesn't get it.


If you can't take the time to call me, see me, or for God's sakes write a simple PERSONAL email (i. e. not a stupid poem that you forwarded to 12 other people) then I want nothing to do with you.

Before you tell me "well, you should make an effort too", I already made many efforts to no avail. There's a point where you have to give up.

It goes for family too - I'm tired of making excuses for everyone - if I can take the time to call once in a while, why can't you? We're all busy!

I know that very well with a friend we'll call Betsy. I used to tell my family that I was Betsy's friend but she wasn't mine. I knew she used me when convenient but I let her. As soon as she got married, she didn't need me anymore.
