Fair results are in! ***Updated with Pics!***

Just got home from the fair.. last full night... The rabbits were all sent home but the ones up for auction... The posters could go home tonight... DS15 actually won Champion of his division and is a STATE FAIR entry!!!!

That is great Nan! Congrats to him!!!! What did he submit?

I wish the adult competitons worked like that. In the past, if you won county then you bumped up to the state fair. Now the state takes their own enteries

He did a rabbit skeleton poster and explained about the bones.. not real bones.. it's a photo of it..

I decided not to take the creme brulee cupcakes over the weekend. They were good, but I did not feel that they met the category like they should. (Trying to carmalize creme brulee with a candle lighter instead of a creme brulee torch does not work very well! )

We went to the fair last night and I entered the pie and cobbler contest. There were 6 entereies 5 of which had peach in them. I took a Blueberry-Nectarine Cobbler...and won! I tied with someone else and after about 10 minutes of discussion, they gave me first place!

I talked to the judges afterward and they asked me if I would enter any of the remaining contests (the fair runs until Saturday). I decided to enter the candy contest and they gave me free passes for the fair gate for my whole group!

I am going to use my Cricut to make myself a shirt that says, Fair Nerd.

Okay girls, final update from Fair 2011...I entered the homemade candy contest tonight and won 2nd place. I only lost by 1 point! I am happy though! This is the most I have ever entered!

Side note, one of the judges this evening is a food consultant who works with people trying to get into the business. She gave me her card and wants me to contact her! Who knows, I might be coming to a farmer's market near you!...okay, well not near most of you, but possibly near Nan!
