Facts of Life

I wanted to be Blair, too. And I'm a short, fat black girl :teeth: I loved Facts Of Life. I loved the idea of an all-girls boarding school. Didn't care for it when they added George Clooney (but i did love Cloris Leachman). I developed a lot of respect for Lisa W.,after finding out that she refused to be in the episode where Natalie lost her virginity (because she did not agree with the subject of the episode). It was nice to find a popular actress who stood up for her personal values. It's good to see that she still seems to lead a wholesome life. I also enjoyed her on The Mickey Mouse Club.

wooo hooo!! more fans!! GREAT now i'm singing the song!!! Well you take the good, you take the bad and there you have....

ooo i soo Wanted to be Blair!! i'm short and MExican...so not even close, but she was soooo cool! Anyone see the 'reunion' movie on Lifetime i think it was??

Loved this show! I always wanted to be Blair but I was more of a Jo kind of girl! I am getting the DVD.

You take the good, you take the really bad, you take them both and there you have:

The Facts of Life DVDs!!!

I'm a guy, so many of the lessons weren't really for my attention, but I enjoyed it for a couple of years. It got a bit old after that, especially when it got so PC about seemingly every single topic out there.

It definitely jumped the shark by the time they moved into that house, long after any of them would have still been in grade school, or even high school. I think even Tootie was going through the change of life by the end of that show, which would have made Mrs. Garrett about 142 years old. ;)

I loved that show! It was one of my favorites growing up. I ordered the DVD and hope to get it very soon. I thought Jo was the coolest although I always related a bit more to Natalie! :thumbsup2

Okay, I'll admit to loving that show. And put me in the Jo idolizing category (she was such a bad ***). But watch now? I think not.

i was hooked all the way through! sad i know, but true :)

Don't worry, so was I, except for the last season, where Blair started running the school or something like that. Was that a spin off? I remember catching a rerun a while back, where a young Mayim Balik (Blossom) and Juliette Lewis were on it.

I loved this show!! I am so happy it's coming out on DVD. This TV on DVD sets I will buy!! I can't wait to start watching them all over again :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Is Charlotte Rae still alive?

I remember the one where Tootie bought some bongs (for smoking weed) thinking they were for candy. She had no clue what they were. Mrs. Garrett had to tell her, LOL!

Remember the one where she met Jermaine Jackson??

Also remember the one where Tootie was drunk, and the one where Natalie was attacked- they were pretty "heavy issues" to talk about on tv for that time!

Oh yes! I will most definitely be buying the DVD!

You know which episode was my favorite? The "very special" one! Oh wait, that was all of them, wasn't it? :teeth:

Honestly, you could not unglue me from the t.v. when that show was on. Love Natalie! Really could not stomach Jo when they first introduced her character. There were one too many moments when she was being a bad*** just to drive home the point: Hey everyone, don't forget that this girl's a tough cookie! They toned that down a lot in the later episodes.

I am not ashamed to admit that I loved this show to very end! When Cloris, George, MacKenzie, and.......that Australian chick joined the cast- Still LOVED it! I probably even shed a tear watching the series finale. :sad1:

Of course, not as many tears as I shed when Arrested Development was cancelled. I just had to throw that in there out of bitterness and anger that one of the best shows EVER is no longer on the air! And yet, how many seasons did Full House run?!? (Please don't flame me, Full House fans! My daughter loves that show, I just don't. :) )

Gotta Get To Disney :moped:

Me too, I'm a fan. I watched this show and different strokes, they were my favorite. Yes, and now I keep signing the song in my head.

Why would anyone want to be Blair? She was obnoxious and generally an example of how NOT to behave! Of course she was pretty and all, but not someone to emulate.

Maybe later in the series they had her change and behave better, I don't remember. ???

We dressed up as the Facts of Life for Halloween about two years ago. I was Blair and I finally got to realize a fundamental Dana life truth: I missed my time. I would've had perfect hair for the 1970s. I had the feathered bangs, the casual curls at the ends ... it was great. I am considerably less cute than Blair, but I did my best.

The girl who played Tootie wore roller skates. My friend Mike was Mrs. Garrett. He was stunning. You should've seen the red beehive wig.

Cool I used to watch this show all the time! I won't buy the dvds though I never buy dvds anymore just rent them!
