Hey,
I deleted/unactivated my facebook account that is/was associated with my main email address from aol.com. I have received reactivation notices through email from facebook saying somebody reactivated my account. Grrr.
Why is this?

DOes it automatically reactivate it if somebody searches for me using that email address?
I totally regret joining facebook with my main email address. It's either that or i'm changing my email address again.

It might be real, or it might be phishing. Are there links in the email? Don't click on them...

it is an automatic thing. basically, it deactivates it for a brief period, maybe 6 weeks or so, then it sends you that and you have to permanently delete it. i just got that e-mail last week to.

If you know...do they send you a link to permanently delete the account?

yes, and the subject is something like "welcome to facebook" and in the e-mail, there is a link to permanently delete it. after that, if you decide to get a fb acct, you will have to start all over again.

Why don't you just change the email that is associated with the account?

I changed emails after making my Facebook account so I just went in and deleted the one account and entered the new one.
