A friend just posted this:

FB has changed & failed to let us know about it... Take a look at your URL address (the top box on your screen.) If you see "http" instead of "https" you DO NOT have a secure session & can be HACKED. Go to Account - Account Settings - Account Security - click Change. Check box (secure browsing), click Save. FB has automatically set it on the non-secure setting!

Just looked on mine someone from Bristol has been trying to hack into my account - worth double checking your settings.

I've just had a look and seen that mine has been accessed by other computers than my own...just checked that box :thumbsup2

Thank you for posting this

I just updated mine and will go update my mum's too (computer stuff is not her thing!) ;)

Thank you! Just changed mine. :thumbsup2

Mine was set to https, but wasn't ticked on my settings - just changed now! Thanks! :goodvibes

I manually go into my settings regularly and make sure that they https is displayed in the url. What I have noticed is that they do tell you they estimate the approximate location and it seems like everyone logs in from Bristol :rotfl2: At first I was a little uneasy about this when I noticed it on mine so I logged out and logged back in again several times, both on my phone and my laptop, then later on from a pc at work. Sure enough, each login time was recorded accurately but the location on each occasion? Bristol. I don't believe I was hacked. They just seem have a very odd way of tracking the approximate location.

Strangely the day it said someone from Bristol had tried to log in I was at Edinburgh airport - maybe Facebook are getting Scotland and Bristol very confused:rolleyes:

Who knows :confused3 All I know is that according to FB, I log in from different IP addresses throughout the day and the only consistency is that apparently I am always in Bristol. They have the log in times down to a tee, but as for my location? All I can say is I had better go check my postcode ... :lmao:

Sometimes people have IP addresses that actually change from time to time.

Though many don't. Is Facebook HQ based in Bristol or something?
