Let's say your security settings are set so only friends can see your wall and photos, and you send a new friend request to someone.

At the time of that friend request, can that person see your wall and photos because he is a potential friend? Or does the person have to say yes to the friend request to see your wall and photos?

If the person can see your information without friending you and doesn't accept the request, does he have access to your information for as long as he lets that request stay in place?

This used to be how FB worked but during one of the hundred changes last year, the person receiving the friend request can no longer access anything that is not set to "everyone". They can only see your public profile (to see what they can see, go to privacy settings and click the button that says something about seeing what your profile looks like).

Thanks! Facebook changes so often that it's hard to keep up with how those privacy controls/friendship requests work.

So true! In the past, I was able to view people's pages without accepting friend requests. Once I declined a few requests and then decided to see if I could view their pages without having a friend request in holding, but I couldn't so I knew the only reason I could view them moments before was because they sent requests. I did the same thing this past Fall while a friend request was in holding only I wasn't able to view their page, only their public profile. That's the only way I knew about the change. I find FB's settings to be alot of trial & error.
