Hi-- I friend everyone on Facebook because I feel mean if I ignore them... this had lead to a little bit of a problem for me. Is there any way to remain someone's friend but NOT have their updates show on my page? I don't mean to sound mean, but I have some people that I seriously haven't spoken to since the eighth grade (I am 36) and I wasn't even their friend back then..

;)

thanks for the advice!

Yes

If you look on your "home" screen, on the left, there's a list of things. The first is news feed, and then there's like links, videos blah, blah. You can create a new one (click create) and add the people you care about. I call mine "People I Like." Anyway, once you have that set up, if you click on it instead of news feed, you'll only see stuff from people on that list.

Also if you put the mouse arrow over kinda to the right of someone's update, you'll see a thing that says "Hide". You can choose to hide the person, or you can also just choose to hide whatever quiz they did, etc.

there is also a HIDE button on the right side of the main "home" page feed. Clicking it will hide everything that poster does.
