I have a facebook account and rarely post on it. I use it mostly for checking photos from school events, downloading coupons, etc. but I have a lot of stuff from other people's facebook pages show up on my wall.

Today I got a friend request from a co-worker. I like the woman, but I'm really really really reluctant to have her as a friend. My co-worker is a nice, but very religious, woman and she has a tendency to get offended easily.

I'm not worried about any of my activity offending her, but basically, it boils down to I don't want her seeing what other people I'm friends with have posted (my SIL is a NUT - and I mean this literally - she's certified, on psychotropic drugs and everything) and blabbing about it at work and getting me in trouble with my boss, or giving me the cold shoulder.

Conversely, I'm also worried that not friending her could offend her.

So would you friend the co-worker? If not how would you explain to her why you didn't friend her?

I have a coworker similar to that. I just put him in a group with the highest privacy settings. He couldn't see my wall posts nor could he post anything on my wall. You can also do Custom and 'Except XXXX person' on your privacy settings.

WE have a rather small dept and he already knew another coworker and I were friends on FB so it would have been very awkward in the office not to accept his request.

You could accept her friend request & then set your privacy so that she can not see what other's post on your wall.

I know you can do this for a specific person, but I'm not sure of the exect steps. I have people into groups & certain groups only get a limited view of my info.

On the top right you should see account settings & then a drop down type list that says privacy settings. After that its pretty self explanitory.

You could personally go to this coworker and tell her that you don't accept Friend requests from people you actually VERBALLY speak to everyday and that you only use Facebook to network with long distance friends and family. Tell her you are just trying to keep your account small.
