I was raised catholic. I can remember when I lived down in Mississippi for a year, having a conversation with another young wife. Her dad was a minister. She asked me what religion I was. It was an odd question that no one had ever asked me before. I replied that I was Catholic. Her jaw literally dropped. And her eyes bugged out of her head. Yeah a bit like that guy there. She said to me, with such seriousness..."Do you know you're going to hell?" I just could help it I just . I said well thanks for letting me know.

I don't know if I'd say it's a pant load. It's a visual I usually don't indulge in.

But, I feel sad for people who are so judgmental - personally, I think it's pretty presumptuous for anyone to know how God judges and who He will forgive with his Grace.

I used to go to Bible study w/a friend of mine who went to a Pentacostal church (then I'd go to Mass, lol), and I remember discussions where members would literally bash Catholics - it was funny to me at the time that some of them were acting in the same way that they accused the Catholics of acting, but didn't see it.

Sadly there are people who believe that is the truth. I have had too many people try to tell me that I am not a Christian, that everything that is a part of Catholicism is evil and satanic.

I'd say your average Christian (no matter what denomination) wouldn't believe something like that.

I love our church because we do many things with our local Christian churches, including a joint service on Palm Sunday. We all believe we are brothers and sisters in Christ.

Sadly there are many who do believe that their denomination is "the way to eternal life"
