Fab Five heads back to the Happiest Place on Earth

I've seen alot of this shot before and for me it isn't half as good as Nostalgic Dad's who use to post on here alot.

LOL! It was like having a vacation within a vacation, seriously. I loved that lens. It was very hard sending it back. I'm not sure if I can ever justify spending somewhere around $700 or so dollars for it. Our 20th anniversary is coming up in November and we are planning on going somewhere relaxing. We are looking into the East Coast somewhere for a long weekend because we have put Cannon Beach, Oregon on the backburner for a summer getaway with the kids. So secretly I would love to rent the 10-22 again for out anniversary but I won't. We just can't seem to find a good place to stay out East. I will say though that airfares and hotel prices have great rates for early November. Thank Goodness.

Do you ever see those wide angle lenses on sale anywhere or used for a good price?

That might be a question to post on its own thread. I would be uncomfortable buying used just because I don't consider myself experienced enough to be able to evaluate it once it arrived! I think some of the big name sites are well regarded for their refurbished lenses, but the I don't know about used.

Maybe the lottery? I hope for that all the time, but then I guess it would increase my odds if I actually bought a ticket!

Hey there Mike! I just saw a recent photo on the DLPOTD thread and found your TR here. I've been away for awhile but am so looking forward to reading your TR and seeing your pics. We haven't been to DL since last September! I can't believe it's been a year! Anyway, just wanted to say hi and mention that I am really impressed by the photos I've seen thus far. I haven't had a chance to read your TR yet and have only seen the last few pages in the POTD thread, but wow! Very nice stuff! :)

I've wondered where you have been? Did you ever make it to WDW over the summer...it seems like you were thinking of making a trip out that way. Anyways its good see you back. I ended up renting the 10-22 wide angle lens for the trip (and even though I'm a newbie with it) I really enjoyed it so much. Do I ask for it for Christmas? I wish it wasn't so much $$$!

I've been so busy that I've been off the boards for months. I think I popped in once or twice to see the potd thread or xmas thread and that's it. I started rehabbing our house last year. Found that I really enjoyed it, then took some investing classes, and now I am a real estate investor. In addition to that I am still working my regular job and helping my husband w/ our business, so it's been a crazy busy last 8 months or so. I am currently rehabbing a neglected property that was so bad it had to be gutted inside. Anyway, those kinds of things have helped me to refocus my priorities. In this economy, you kind of have to -- survival of the fittest. We never did make it to WDW. Had to reassess the priorities and decided that taking one more Disney trip wasn't going to make or break us but with the economy the way it is, that could make or break us. So rather than wait to fall victim to the economy, I decided to grab the bull by the horns and start investing. We now own 2 rentals and are flipping our first property. (The one I am rehabbing.) I've found my passion.
Was the 10-22 lens the Canon WA lens? The photos are very nice. I love how your photos have really evolved. It shows how much you've grown as a photographer. You have some beautiful shots! Love the Bokeh in some of the shots I've seen. If you love the lens a lot, I would ask for it for xmas. If it's really expensive, then maybe ask for it for xmas, birthday and anniversary present in advance! LOL, that's what I would do anyway! ;) I'm typing this on my not so smart phone, lol, so excuse any typos, formatting issues, etc.

To me Autopia is so much fun! I was thinking of not going on it on our last vacation but the kids really wanted to do it. I am so happy we did. It really is fun. You can go "off roadin'", watch the monorail come buzzing by you, and visit a Car Park.

See you next time

Alright summer is coming to an end today so I best be finishing this trip report. To all those who have stayed along all this time and let me post more photos from my collection this time around I must say thanks. I will limit my future postings of my shots to the POTD on the Dis community board on the disneyland side.

We are shooting for going back one more time to DL in the summer of 2012. It is hard to believe but my oldest daughter will be a senior that year so we plan to go back to our favorite family vacation ever.....DL and the Hotel Del Coronado!!!! Fun and sun! It will be hard to watch Star Tours 2.0, Little Mermaid, and the new parade come along next year. Thank goodness for the disboards and youtube. I'm counting on all of you locals to give us good updates. 2011 holds a trip to the Oregon coast if we can afford it. My wife has always wanted to visit Portland, Seattle, and the Pacific Northwest. The good thing is we won't have to come up with Theme park tickets for next year. Or is that the bad thing?:rotfl2: So till we all meet again I must say goodbye to this report. Thanks again. Here are some few parting shots. See you all on the POTD.

If you ever been in tarzan's treehouse you will know that the picture of tarzan is a reflection in a mirror because he's on the other side of the room

Thankfully I still have several shots to share so I won't be too sad being away so long. From my wife and I we want to say thank you one more time for sharing our memories with us. See you all real soon.

Thanks for all your great pictures! I've enjoyed reading your TR and look forward to you next one. It will be here before you know it!

Thanks so much franandaj! Your probably right in the fact that the time will fly.

Read your TR and thoroughly enjoyed reading about all your experiences. Loved the pictures too. Those chairs at the GCH are just heavenly. Didn't you just love WOC? We could watch it from our room every night. A great room upgrade! Thanks for taking the time to share your trip.
