I just received a phone call from my sis who took her children to Sea World yesterday and is in DLR today. She says she was amazed that both parks are only moderately busy. She says they had only a small wait on most rides.
Sea world was a lovely 70 degrees yesterday. Perfect weather. She didn't tell my how warm DLR is. But she was pleasantly surprised that the parks were not their usual summer crowds. Can't wait til Aug. when I can give Mickey a big hug!
:cheer2:

oops, guess I should specify that "today" is Sunday, July 13. So as of today the park is moderately crowded. There, much better!:thumbsup2

I guess those gas prices really are keeping people away. I'm surprised more locals aren't there though.

Amazing because it was pretty crowded the first week of June when we were there. Not really terrible, but it sounds like it was more crowded that week that it is now. Major bummer for us. LOL

Aren't the local with the non deluxo annual passes blacked out this weekend?

Yep. The SoCal passes are blacked out throughout July all the way to mid-August. I would have gone in a heartbeat today if I didn't have to pay extra to get in.

hope in oct alot of parents are syaing no to going and staying close to home couse money ..(none of us) but others lol jjst so its not so busy for all us looking forward to oct

I'm sure they are. But if I couldn't afford to travel far for a vacation, I'd be more then happy to pay to get in to DL. I know we're paying to do local things around where we live, rather then driving far.

Because some Arizona and Utah schools will be out burring our trips in Oct I'm hoping gas will be > $6.00/gal. That should convince a lot of then "not' to drive to DL :). :thumbsup2

lol well from a thing i just saw some one thinks it will be 7dollers by election time so it will cost 7dollers to go vote (thank god for mail in ballots) and ya well gas going up has charged us 50 more on bus tickets now lol but hay i knew it would go up from first time i looked (cant buy tillsep)

but hay since it only seems like half of az is out dieirng our vacation maybe only 25% will end up at disney with gas prices.
i know its mean and im sorry but i dont wish it on any of us ;)

Are you crazy?! :scared1: :scared1: Are you really wishing for gas to cost more than $6.00/gal? So of us are poor college students who can barely afford gas as it is! I'll have to sever off some of my limbs to pay for gas soon...

Sorry but we Utahn's are close enough to get decent airfares. I seriously doubt they'll be able to keep us away from our favorite fall getaway!

I seriously doubt it will be $6 or even $7 a gallon by election time. It is high, but look how long we were in the $3 dollar range before getting to $4? I think it would be another year or two before we see the $6-7 range. Wouldn't surprise me if next year we are seeing $5-5.50 though.

Although I know you Oct people want to be in serious denial about those fall breakers! :lmao: ;) I hope for all of your sakes it won't be as bad as last year!

Nor Cal is @ 4.55 as well, matter of fact, gas prices are higher in Ca. and in Hawaii.

After the election, I dont think the gas will raise that high no matter if it next summer. I think america will see some kind of gas relief at some point after the election. Of course, That is just my opinion. Who knows if I am correct or not.

:) Thanks for the info, we are going to DL next week and I was worried about the crowd level. We have never been there - we have been to DisneyWorld 5 times and can't wait to see DL and CA. :yay:

Ummm... sorry to burst anyone's bubble.. but.. I can speak for my fellow Arizonans when I say most of us that drive to Cali fill up In Yuma, the last AZ stop for reasonable gas before entering CA. we try to avoid paying those gas prices. So,don't know if your plan for gas hikes will work for Az. I for one will not be there in Oct. so don't have to worry about me, lol jk.
I fully can understand though the desire to avoid packed crowds. In Az school kids get fall break the first week of Oct. usually. That is why they travel. I am just a poor college student, don't shoot, don't shoot!!!:confused3 Seriously though, I hope the crowds don't get too awful low , that would be alarming. But then maybe some discounts will be offered!
$4.34? did someone really say that? And I complain about paying $3.97. Yikes!

the locals are blocked out..
