My family is planning on doing the 3D dessert party this year with our 2 year old. Has anyone booked this event with a small child (under 3) and if so, did you have to pay for them to attend?
good question, you are going to have to call to find out i think. I looked online at the reservation info and there is no ability to put in ages. Looks like there is one charge per person, no kids rate vs adult rate
no idea if under 3 would be no charge
here is link to a blog from last year. Very alcohol based, cocktail party like is what i came away with. There is not seating for all (think pfts here)
IMHO, may not be toddler friendly, many of the samplings for desserts also have alcohol as the base
and there is no indication of a reduced price for children. And everything says "per person".
My thought is each person entering a payment-required event will have to be a paying Guest. Many of the events do not have tables and chairs, and strollers would have to be parked outside.
The Food & Wine Festival special events are not recommended for young children. They are definitely adult focused. And yes, you would have to pay for the child. There's no differentiation in price between adults and children for these events. I'd think they were OK for teens who are interested in the culinary arts, but they are not for little kids.
I would recommend the Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert party for a similar (although not identical by any means) experience that is geared for families with children, and I don't think you'd have to pay for a 2 year old to do that.

These events are not meant for young children. There is no seating and strollers would not be permitted. This is not like the dessert party at the Magic Kingdom for wishes at all. Personally, I would not do a food and wine event with a young child as it is not catered to them.
I attended last year and felt very bad for the lady I saw that had a few young chilcren with her. She couldn't find a table for them to sit at, didn't have a storller for the toddler and most of the cost is really the alcohol available and of course the kids couldn't have that. I believe the ice cream as well as a couple of other desserts might have had alcohol in them. After attending (and I enjoyed iot and we are going this year) I would not bring a young child.
As others have said the price is for each person in your party no matter the age.
