Will be at BWV a few days early November during the F&W festival. We are not going down for the festival, but a family wedding on the gulf coast gave us the opportuinty to be at DW for a few days. Since we are staying at the BW, my SIL mentioned she would like to go into Epcot one day. I don't even think she realizes/knows what the festival is. Having never been there during that time, what is Epcot like? Is it insanely crowded? Do I understand correctly that they have different country "booths" with food offerings? And how does the cost work? Thanks for your help.:)

The weekdays are not too crowded. The locals are there mostly on the weekends. The booths have sample size portions that range from about $4 to $8. It is a great event and we love it. We usually eat our way around the world for lunch. They have a brochure that will show what is being served at each of the booths so you can plan what you want to try. You definitely should try it!

that is just the info I was looking for!! I think we will definitely try it. We are arriving Wednesday evening, so I my convince the rest of the party to try it on Thursday. :thumbsup2

Ever been to Costco when they are giving out food samples? People stopping in the middle of and blocking the isle to sample a cracker, fixated on a minuscule portion of food with a strange glazed look on their face, acting like they haven't had a meal in 2 days.

F&W is the same thing only the samples aren't free! :lmao:

:earsboy: Bill

At the top of the Dining board, there is a F&W sticky. I'm guessing by now someone has probably already scanned the 2011 brochure and put it there - I just got mine in the mail a few days ago.

It's awesome, don't miss it! Arrive around 11:00 a.m. when the World Showcase opens and you should be able to stroll around the kiosks and sample at your leisure. Enjoy! :goodvibes

Yup, that's my husband at the BJS Wholesale near us. I think since he retired in April he goes on a daily basis and just doesn't tell me:rotfl2: No doubt he'll fit right in at the F&W!

I got one in the mail too - but had a reservation until I rented them.
think I signed up for one a few years ago.

the only problem might be in New Jersey week - it is generally in the first or second week in Nov during the f/w - not certain when it is this year?

those people are there everyday!

Jersey Week begins Nov. 5th:scared1:

We have one day at BCV prior to November 6 cruise. Have been to F&W several time but thinking of not going this time. Disappointed in the Eat to the Beat line-up this year. And it gets really expensive to sample all the goodies, especially after paying the Epcot admission. May just lounge at the pool and have a nice dinner at BC or BW...

I'm not sure about the brochure in the mail thing - we also have TiW - but our Disney stuff is usually in my name and the brochure came addressed to DH. But it might be that - we might have used his name on it last year.

I have been to Food & Wine the first week of November time frame in 2008 and last year as well and haven't had any crowd issues due to Jersey week. I think we've been there November 6-8, 2008 and last year it was November 1, so that was prior to Jersey Week, I believe. This year, we will be there November 3-6. I'm not concerned about crowds though - we try to do the booths early, take a break in the afternoon, then come back at night and we don't have too many crowd problems, even on the weekend.

Being from Jersey AND a teacher:rotfl2: I can tell you for sure Jersey Week is the week of Nov 6th. We were hoping the wedding would actually be that week as it would allow me to have the entire week off and only have to use 2 work days off. Turns out the wedding is Nov 5th, and airfare was ridiculous, so we are going down the 2nd in the evening, leaving DW Sat am for the wedding in Fy Myers, returning to DW Sunday am, coming home Monday night.. How dare my nephew interrupt my DW vaca:confused3 We are also TIW card holders and haven't gotten anything in the mail.

AP holders maybe? I've gotten the brochure in the past as well. It did come earlier this year, and that was appreciated.

Yes! What's up with the ETTB line-up this year! Being baby boomers we have enjoyed some of our favorite bands in the past, but this year, not so much. Jon Secada, Sister Hazel, Hanson? I'll pass this year. :cool1:

The brochures are from TIW. DS and wife are going down at the same time as us and didn't get one. She took mine the other day. BTW we really enjoy strolling the countries and have a few favs. Have fun.

we do have a TIW card but just purchased it while we were there the week of 8/12. So maybe they will send one, maybe not. Also purchased an AP then too, so we'll see. I was able to see the one on the Allears site, although it was small. Hopefully we can pick one up at the resort maybe before we actually go in?:confused3 I'm sure it will be fun at any rate because we have never done it before.
