Hi To All F&W Disneygoers

This is my first year attempting to plan specifically for the F&W Festival. We arrive 10/9 and leave sadly on 10/13. I am slightly paniced since reservation lines opened today and I have yet to do much research for the event (which is not like me:guilty:).

Myself and DH are going with two other Disney couples and can't decide between the Sweet Sundays (10/10 Cake Love) or French Regional Lunches (10/10 Rhone Valley-Maison Vidal-Fleury,Jorge Hernandez). Both look yummy but would love some feedback.

And is Party of the Senses worth it? Because of how much it costs, I would have to sacrifice my ADR for California Grill and we do LOVE California Grill but are willing to try Party of the Senses if it is worth it.

Do reservations go quickly for these events????

I hate being so behind in this game. And I appreciate all the help and advice given.

We did the Sweet Sunday, Cake Love with Warren Brown a couple years ago. It was absolutely wonderful. We had a breakfast brunch first and then he did his presentation and we got to sample everything he made and then got the recipes. He is very engaging and entertaining. Unfortunately, we won't be able to do this again, but I can definitely recommend it. It was well worth the money.

Personally I would try for the French regional Lunch. We've done Sweet Sundays 3 times over 3 years. I don't care for the location they are currently using so until they change back it to a private location we are passing. We didn't care for the presenter at the first one we did but we thouroughly enjoyed the other 2. The French Regional Lunches got rave reviews last year so were are trying 2 of them this year. I personally thought the $10 more the Lunches cost is worth it compared to the Sweet Sundays in their current incarnation.

As for Party for the Senses, we've done and enjoyed it but would rather spend that money on smaller more intimate events. There is only so much I can eat & drink in 2 1/2 hours.

We are doing the French Regional Lunch on October 29th. I'm hoping it is actually held at the Bisto de Paris since that is the only Epcot restaurant we have not been to.
Any idea as to what we should expect. DH doesn't drink, but I signed him up anyway. There will be three of us in our group.

They may be gone now if you didn't book them already.

I've done two Sweet Sundays and I don't like them. Too much dessert too early. I definitely do not like where they are holding them now in the Festival Center. If I wasn't a fan of Sweet Sunday in the Odyssey I know better than to try it at the festival center.

I did very much like the one French Regional lunch I did, but I have a friend who did one a month later and didn't like hers.

Yes, the lunches are held in Bistro de Paris. I don't know what you are asking about your husband not drinking. Wine accompanies every course. I know there is water, but are you asking if he can get some other beverage? I didn't see anyone try. He can, of course, ask. They won't reduce the price for non-drinkers. I don't know what to tell you to expect. It's an amuse and three course meal with wine. Each one is not going to be the same, they had a different menu each time. There will be a winery rep there who will talk to you about the wine in the featured region.

Thanks, it doesn't matter if DH doesn't drink the wine, he can drink water. We are going with a DL CM who wants to experience the Frence Regional Lunch, and it sounded great to me. We are also doing the "3D" Disney's Dessert Discovery...

I'm the one who didn't like the French Regional Lunch as much as I thought I would, but I'm giving it a second chance at redemption this year. The saving grace for me was the wine, as I thought the focus was more on that than the food. (It was the lackluster food that tipped the scales for me as thumbs-down last time.) If they serve me better food this time around, I'll know for sure whether I'd want to book it again. I don't think the event is worth the price if you're not drinking the wine, IMHO.

Last year we did the French Regional Lunch and it was great. This year since they have expanded the program with a Friday Lunch we are going to that one and try Warren Brown for Sweet Sundays. If we had to choose one I would have stayed with the French Lunch.

I'm signed up for two of the French Regional Lunches this year. We didn't attend the festival last year but based on some of the reviews we decided to give them a try. As I said when this thread was first started we've done the Sweet Sundays in the passed and really enjoyed two of the three we did. We went to one after they moved them to the Festival Center and decided that if they continued to hold them there we wouldn't be attending them anymore. For the price they are charging I'd rather put that money toward the Lunches in a more private setting. We attended the Food & Wine Pairings they held at Bistro in years past but when they offered the exact same menu for the third year in a row we stopped doing those. Now they've replaced them with the Regional Lunches so we're trying those. I believe one of the ones we are doing is the same one as you and we are doing the 3D Dessert event the same night as you according to the meet thread. I'll most likely have my Stitch along so it will be easy to spot me. One of these days I'll get around to doing a travel log of his F & W adventures.

We were on the Princess Baltics Cruise June 11 to June 21. Look who we ran into in Russia.
