I 'm thinking of splurging on F! Dessert seating for our upcoming trip. I have never felt it was worth the cost before, but I find that the convience is starting to become more appealing as the planning for this trip goes on, but I can 't make up my mind. To those of you have purchased those very expensive cupcakes, is it worth it? :)

YES! For us it is "Worth" every penny :thumbsup2
We have done the Dessert seating every year since our DGS was a year old...he in now 11...He loves it and we do too. (the first year he slept through the show :rotfl2:) I love not having to sit on the ground, or try and find a spot. DGS enjoys some of the items in the dessert box, but his favorite is having the hot chocolate.

One thing, before you go to your seats, stop off at a nearby store and get a bag to hold your box (if you don't finish your desserts). The lids aren't really great and have a tendency to fall off/come apart. So, get a bag or two (the free clear ones). :)

Enjoy!

Woohoo hubby agrees! It will be nice not to have all the trouble of defending our spots. I really loathe that aspect of waiting it out. The dessert won 't hurt either.:cool1: Thanks for all the help!

We've done it twice and will be doing it again for our trip in November. But I wanted to give you some info that I havent seen on this post yet. They start giving seat assignements and hour before the first show. People line up to get the best choice of seats. If you want front row seats (there are ususually 3 rows or so) you will need to have someone wait in the check in line about 45 minutes ahead of time. There is a hostess stand. When I waited in line last time for check in, we all sort of figured out which seats we were going to ask for so it made the process faster

Thanks for the tip Ballerinamom. I 'm sure I will be designated person for the waiting.

Does anyone trust vacation planners for this or just call yourself? I 've searched some threads and seen mixed reviews.

GREAT IDEA!

So I can bring the right size bag, what size are the boxes?

Thanks

That's a great tip. I always keep a handful of plastic grocery bags in the zippered portion of my purse, specifically for instances like this. (They are very easy to fold into a tiny square if you keep them flat, BEFORE they are opened and loaded with groceries.)

We've done F! with dessert seating and without. My DH and I did it for his 50th birthday trip with just the 2 of us.

We've also staked out a spot with 5 people, including a double stroller. That was a little more challenging, but DH was having a foot problem that trip so he did a lot of blanket sitting while I took the kids to ride a few rides. We had dinner on our blanket while we waited for the show to start and it turned out to be more enjoyable than I thought it would be.

I think the dessert seating is worth it - but it really depends on circumstances. I don't know that I would be willing to do it with smaller kids since I feel like the railing could be right in their line of site. Or they would end up on my lap and then I would have a hard time seeing around a kid. :cool2:

It's not something I would do every time, but it is a nice splurge. I find the "regular" wait for F! to be quite unpleasant, but I have a low tolerance for that sort of thing.

This is a great post! So just to confirm - you have a decent view of the fireworks if you do the dessert package and stay in your seats, right? I have a special needs child and was already thinking F! package would be necessary but if there's a pretty good view of the fireworks too that will seal the deal!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but depends on the Fireworks show. For Magical, which is playing now, yes, a good view from the dessert seating area. Remember Dreams Come True fireworks are best viewed from the Hub or Main Street. For those you have a partial view from the F! seating but won't get the full experience. So the answer to your question would depend on when you are going.

Good info! We're planning a trip for July 2013. Thanks!

We totally love it. It is only my son and I, so it's not a huge expense. I love having a place to sit, a guaranteed seat, and we loved the desserts and the hot chocolate. Will definitely do it again next time!

That is my only gripe! After all this time they can't figure out a box lid that will stay on? I'm confused about your statement of getting a clear free bag..Where do you get those and how does it help?

Agreed! When we went last November, we had 6 boxes and the stupid lids were all over the place. We went to that pirate themed shop and asked for 2 bags and they happy obliged. It would have annoyed the heck out of me to carry those without a bag all the way back to DLH.

They should realize a bag needs to be offered already. This time I think I'll get smart and put on of those recycled bags in my backpack to carry them all back.
