FACT:
Yep. Its true. I was there yesterday and the lady at the Epcot baggage inspection informed the man standing right beside me that Walt Disney World is a FAMILY PARK, and that the F.C.U.K. shirts are definately not allowed inside the park. He was told that he had from baggage inspection to the nearest restroom (and he pointed to it) to either purchase another shirt, change shirts, or flip the shirt inside out. He said that they are now looking for these particular shirts, and that if anyone is seen inside the park wearing one of these shirts that they will be asked to leave the park.

Opinion:
I told another associate later that I supported their decision. The bottom line is that though it is an acronym for whatever company of UK, it is still very clear what their goal is. Sales by controversy. The advertising campaign is centered around sexual innuendos and its very clearly a play on the popular 4 letter word. Ive seen the commercials. You'd either have to be just plain stupid or nieve to not see the goal here. Remember too...dads... that when guys see these shirts, they think about the real word, and then they see your wives and daughters! Is that the kind of thoughts you want people having about them? Yes there are much worse things in the parks on the backs and fronts of guests, but at least its a step in the right direction. Do yourself a favor and leave them at home.

This will be (undoubtedly) flamed, so I'm not going to check this one again. But if you dont believe me... 1-407-W-Disney. Call them for yourself! Just remember, not all the ones who answer the phones are up to date on everything. According to the lady we spoke to, this took effect right after the last hurricane.

No flames here!
I hope & pray the ban is true, and lasts!
This deplorable campaign started last year,
and was/is marketed directly to teens.

"Remember too...dads... that when guys see these shirts, they think about the real word, and then they see your wives and daughters! Is that the kind of thoughts you want people having about them?"

I'm giving you a standing ovation for that insight - awesome!!
Thanks for posting!

No flames here, either. I don't like those shirts (or the ad campaign) either. ITA with the OP. Thanks for posting.

Banned with good reason. Last time I checked, WDW was private property and they can issue any rules and regulations they wish.

I recently came across an interesting article about the way our brains work, and it applies here. Thought you would find it interesting as well:

THE PAOMNNEHAL PWEOR OF THE HMUAN MNID

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in

you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not

Amzanig huh?

I don't like the logo, but French Connection is a huge company here in the UK and there are many people who will wear these shirts without giving them a second thought - honestly, they are very common. I do think they need to make this info more widely known if they are going to be banned.

Frankly, I think that's a little strong - my husband is a guy and he sees these shirts most days (honestly they are that common), i don't think he has pornographic thoughts everytime we pass one. Personally, I just think 'Oh, grow up' when I see the shirts - I think they are silly and immature and I'd rather not have to explain them to my 7 year old dd.

I don't have a problem with it, but I do think that if they are going to ban those then it needs to be a ban on all clothing with any wording that might be considered sexually explicit.

On our last trip I saw a kid who was MAYBE 16 years old with two middle aged people who I assumed were his parents. The kid's' t-shirt had a huge number "96" on the front and on the back it said "Sexual Dyslexic."

That is really cool, thanks for posting that!!

I'm not sorry to see this ban, the whole campaign is a disgrace. How anyone can want to support a slogan like "Fancy Conquering Uncharted Kingdom" on a tee shirt only made in children sizes is beyond contempt.

I must really be a prude, because I've never seen this shirt - and I work with teenagers!

Also agree. I hate all those clothes with writing on the rear end. Saw a girl at the mall once ,probably 14 or so and her bottom read

"AFTER SCHOOL SNACK"

Who in their right mind would let a girl out like that?

Not all "writing on the butt" type clothes are bad - my daughter has some that say Cheer, and we both have shorts that have the cheer team 'logo', a tiger paw, on the butt - they're cute. But THAT? I'd ban that from my house, let alone leave it up to Disney to do! LOL!!!

Sorry, words on the seat of the pants are a billboard; you are shouting "Look at my butt!", or more appropriately "Look at my daughter's butt!"

It is irrelevant what words or pictures are there, and whether or not you believe them to be cute. There are there, and it draws attention to the butt.

I understand your point of view - to each his own. As long as the terminology is not offensive, I'm fine with it. :) The same with tshirts that have saying across the chest. *shrug*

I agree 100%. My DD's were never allowed to have these and as far as I know never wanted them. My youngest brought home a pair of these that step mom had bought and she won't even wear them at HOME!

ITA - no butt words allowed in this house and that is difficult as my 10yo loves the sport type shorts. I had such a hard time finding something comfy that dd liked without words on the butt for my 10yo and also for my 7yo. It dosen't matter if it says princess or cheer, imho it says LOKKIE HERE ~~ YMMV
