Learn from my mistake!

I bought 1 year Seaworld/Aquatica passes for my family using EZ pay. When the year was up, we thought.....we will just wait a year and then buy again, if we are still in the area (military, and weren't sure if we would be moving). This is for Seaworld SA.
Tossed the passes.

I thought since it was a year pass, it would just expire. But nope, ,unless you call and cancel the pass they still keep deducting the EZ pay amount but they don't send you anything to say "hey your pass is still good!". No email, no new cards....nothing.

I only figured it out when I was going through my bank statement and I noticed the fee being deducted
When I called to ask what was going on, the girl told me they will keep charging your account forever, but they don't send anything to say the passes are still good.
It wasn't written on the initial purchase receipt. The only notice they give is when you initially purchase, it's written in one place before you do the final click.
I couldn't find anything in the FAQs either, and she said nope. They info wouldn't be there, it's just in that final place before you purchase.

So, don't forget that it will self renew!

Yes, it is there and very clear. I just think that it is extremely poor of SW to only allow EZPay to FL residents now! They have lost my business. I will stick to US and Disney. (Yes, I realize Disney does not offer an EZPay, but they don't discriminate like SW does and only offer it to residents of 1 state)

Disney does offer an easy pay option to Florida residents just thought I would let you know that.

OP it clearly states before you buy it that it will continue after the 12 months are up if you don't cancel it. Its in Capital letters in the T&C

I guess I need to rethink my sea world boycott then...or only go to universal...

Yep we knew that. I did over the phone but knew it would lock us in at that rate and not change. That's the reason I did it. Cause unlock disney its one yr and if the pass rates go up when you renew even using disneys ez pay your price goes up too. Also we can't afford disney on ex pay either families too big.

I realize it says so before you click and pay online.
I did not remember it a year later, and looking at the APs it had a date on it, which I figured was the expiration date since it was one year from the date of purchase.
So, thinking it expired xdate/2013, I tossed the cards.

Nothing further was sent, no new cards, no email reminder. Nothing. The girl I spoke with on the phone said they will not send anything to remind you that Ez pay continues until you cancel, they did not send new cards with a new date. Nothing.

I read through the Seaworld SA website FAQS, and there was no wording beyond stating that you pay a down payment and then 11 monthly payments.
Reading through the Busch Gardens/Seaworld website, which is a different site, it does have different wording regarding EZ pay.

I really just meant this as a post to remind people that if you use EZpay, you have to call and cancel it if you don't intend to keep your passes.

This was cut and pasted from the San Antonio Seaworld website

How does EZpay work?

Upon signing up for EZpay, you will be responsible for a $25.00 down payment. Your credit card is automatically billed every month thereafter for 11 or 23 months, depending on your purchase of a 1 Year or Platinum Pass.

SeaWorld San Antonio 1 Year Pass: $25.00 down, $6.82 monthly thereafter

SeaWorld + Aquatica" 1 Year Pass: $25.00 down, $10.00 monthly thereafter

SeaWorld Platinum Pass (2 Years): $25.00 down, $11.09 monthly thereafter

Sea World/Busch EZ Pay is the greatest thing ever.I've had the Platinum pass for over 10 years, this pass is good at all the Sea World,Busch Garden parks and waterparks in the country and right now the monthly EZ Pay monthly price buying it at a Florida park is like $25-$27/mo.I pay $12/mo since the price is locked in,they basically have me for life.
