EZ meals to cook at the DVC villas

We really like to do tuna melts topped with avocado, tomato and cheese! Or taco nachos. Fast and very little clean up !

Since this came back up, I'll share my other favorite meal - if you eat them a few days in a row, you'll offset the sauce cost...salmon roll bowls

Per bowl
1/2 pack of microwave rice
1/2 pack 3oz smoked salmon (so 1.5 oz)
1/4 normal avocado or 1/2 baby avocado
1/4-1/2 of any type of cucumber, deseeded and chopped
some chopped lettuce
(optional) chopped green onion
1-2tsp soy sauce mixed with 1-2 tsp hoisin sauce

Bed rice on the bottom - work around the bowl and lay each ingredient on and then drizzle with the sauce...SO good and so light and fresh (which is what vacations want)...if you are avoiding rice, just double/triple lettuce...if you are avoiding lettuce, add any other veg you like (shredded carrot also works great here) or skip it, b/c really this is just mimicking the sushi, and technically lettuce isn't there, but it does great in the bowl and is cheap...

Ugh I'd probably do DoorDash or some other delivery service- of go offsite if you have a car. Orlando area is FULL of great restaurants. We have cooked on vacation, but dining is a big part of vacation and I'd be so depressed to not only be cooking, but to be making "easy quick" meals like sandwiches or pasta. SO not what I want for dinner when I am on vacation!

If I had to, I guess I'd get a rotisserie chicken and bagged salad from Sam's with some snowflake rolls; people can make sliders or have roast chicken. Sam's pre-made meals are also good: Pot pie, chicken enchiladas, macaroni and cheese, etc. They have a variety of bagged salad mixes (Sweet Kale, Southwest, Watermelon Crunch, Asian, etc) that are easy, provide variety (and nutrition), and aren't too expensive ($2.50 a bag?).

SO... can you really get no table service reservations anywhere, none of the resort hotels or Disney Springs or anywhere? I am not a fan of QS in the parks, but many of the places at Disney Springs are a cut above the QS park fare. Good luck, and keep trying for reservations. I think people are booking multiple reservations- there seems to be a panic about getting ADRs- and hopefully things will open up as it gets closer to your trip.

We are VGC people. We mainly have eggs and bagels for breakfast. We then do a lot of snacks to go. My daughter likes to get a meal and bring half of it back to eat later or the next day.
we are trying to figure out what to do at Aulani because food prices are so expensive and we are staying so long. I’m so thankful we will have a one bedroom.
For Aulani in 2017, we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs one night, and we did an Asian food night (frozen Kahiki brand entrees becuase they are nut allergy friendly). They have a rice cooker in the room, so that inspired us.

Having everyone home during the Pandemic scarred me from cooking. I did so much of it so
now I'm with some others about not cooking on a vacation. Quick breakfast is good but
for dinners some good suggestions posted.

While we are on vacation I want some food that is different than what i cook at home. Door dash
Uber eats etc are great to try out some good restaurants in the area as an alternative also.

We don't eat a whole lot in the parks -- too hot, too busy. But once we're back in the room /condo for the evening, especially after we've had our showers and are in our comfy lounge clothes, our appetites return!

I like to make things at home (in my own kitchen, with my own knives, etc.), freeze them, and take them with us. Bonus if the items can be left in a crock pot all day, but we also like things that can be baked while we shower. Favorites:
- Meatballs (to make into sandwiches)
- Burritos (pack in an aluminum pan, ready to bake)
- Pizza dip
- Chili and cheese (to be poured over tater tots)

There is also a group of CM that will cook and bring the food to your room. Just saw some great meals they just did for a family Man did it look yummy you can find them on FB

Wow, if I lived in Orlando, that'd be my retirement job: bringing pre-cooked meals to rental houses. I love to cook, and I excel at it.

There have been times we have cooked in our DVC daily (due to budget constraints of our guests), i ordered take/bake pizzas, Stouffer's lasagna (they liked it, me not so much), bagged salad, etc. Additionally, I cooked a couple of things at home and put them in the deep freeze and took them in a small cooler in my luggage (flew) or cooler in the car (drove). I have made spaghetti sauce to take, Grandma's BBQ (similar to a sloppy joe), etc.

I just went down earlier this month with my DD and her roommate. We never booked a dinner until the day of and didn't have park tickets. We had several choices each evening. We even saw Ohana come up. We ate at Turf Club (SSR), Trail's End (Fort Wilderness), Kona Cafe (Poly) and Big River (Boardwalk). All were very good.
