My teenage son wears eyeglasses & can barely see a thing without wearing them. Do those of you who wear eyeglasses have any tips or info on particular rides that he might want to be cautious of? He is excited to ride ToT, RnR, 7DMT, FoP, & everything really! :) Any tips or strategies to keep those glasses in place or stow them safely while on particular rides?

If he can’t see without them then he’ll want to keep them on so he doesn’t miss any of the amazing visuals on the rides. I know it’s not “cool” but maybe get one of those glasses strings so if they do come they’ll stay around his neck. If he does lose them on a ride (which he shouldn’t) he should be able to get them back the next day if you report it to the CM there and if they can get to them after the park closes. And if you can, bring an extra pair with you.

I wore mine on everything with no issue. My husband lost a pair of sunglasses on EE but I think that's because he hung them from the collar of his shirt. If he'd warn them I assume they would have been fine.:D

I wear glasses, and a couple weeks ago I rode every one of the rides you referenced multiple times, and never had an issue with my glasses slipping or falling off. He'll be fine!

My husband never has a problem on anything at Disney. I think you'll be fine. My ex however did have a lens pop out on the rocket coaster at universal. Spent the afternoon at lenscrafters so that was fun!

I wear glasses. I continually take them on and off again on a normal day, so they don't fit great any more. I only worry about them on the major rides, like Space, RRC and EE. The rest shouldn't be a problem.

I can't see a THING without mine so last time we went, I bought a pair of Croakies. While waiting in line for any suspect ride, I'd put the Croakies on. Then I'd take them off when the ride was done. Dorky looking but they worked great!
This may be a dumb question...but what are Croakies? :)

Thanks for all of the replies, everyone! It sounds like it shouldn't be an issue, which is GREAT. I'll just see if I can convince to wear those Croakies for a select few rides...since he really can't see a thing without them & wearing his backup prescription sunglasses might be a problem at night. Good to know we can retrieve them the next day if needed though. Thanks for all of the feedback!

Coming in a bit late to this but - I'm one of those over-cautious worry warts and I always wear a glasses strap at WDW. It's easily adjustable, comfortable, and makes me feel better.

DGD and I both wear glasses and they stay on for every ride no problem. At Disney and universal for that matter. Even DGD where her glasses are slightly large since she wears an adult pair of frames. They still stay on well. No straps

I've never had an issue on any ride...and I ride them all! I will say that I do take them off and put them in my bag for Rock n RollerCoaster. I really wouldn't have to ...and sometimes have forgotten without a problem. But, since it's a dark ride anyway, I don't need them and would hate to lose them on the loop. (Probably wouldn't happen anyway).

definitely take them off for Space Mountain and use the elastic pockets in the vehicle. My sunglasses came off, luckily landed at my feet. Unfortunately, my DH wasnt as lucky and lost his $300 sunglasses forever on that ride.

I usually use a string on RnR, EE, Space Mt. Probably not necessary but I feel more comfortable.

I've worn mine on all the rides.
I used to carry my case for RNRC but the last couple times I've just used a sports trap because I'm sick and tired of carrying the case around all day just for one ride.

Sunglasses tend to be a bit of a looser fit and are not adjusted for your specific head where as prescription glasses are.
I wouldn't hesitate to wear my prescription glasses on Space Mountain. Sunglasses on the other hand I wouldn't leave those on on any thrill ride.
