I wore hard contacts for about 10 years, always had halos at night. Very annoying when driving at night. Tried disposable lenses for a while, but at that point I was in need of bifocals. Kids were always bringing home upper respriatory infections, and my eye Doctor strongly suggested not wearing contacts when you had a cold. Just got out of the habit of wearing contacts about 25 years ago. My wife has computer specific glasses for work...but she has one screen at work with tiny windows. When I was in the office I has two 17 inch screens so no issue but the last 7 months I am working off a single 13" laptop screen now, it's a challenge. I could get computer glasses,or just get a cord to hook the laptop up to my home 17 inch single monitorI think most people look straight ahead and turn the head rather than move the eyes much. But absolutely it looks kind of like looking through a prism along the edges.
Contact lens produce almost no distortion. However, I had some serious problems with dryness.
