Has anyone used the Eye-Fi memory cards? I like the idea that all of my photos would be geo-stamped both in Disney and anywhere else I would go. (the fact that I could upload my photos when I get home without having to connect the camera to my PC or MAC by cable is an added bonus)

Has anyone used one of these cards while at WDW? Does it geo-stamp your photos? I understand that it uses known Wi-Fi locations to calculate locations... are there Wi-Fi locations at WDW it can use?

All info GREATLY appreciated. I found someone that is selling the Eye-Fi Connect X2 4GB SDHC card for $42 with free shipping and it seemed like a good deal.

Soooo.... anything? Anyone?

Thanks....

I've got 5 of them, across 3 different cameras and love them.

Supper easy to unload, although I usually end up taking the card out of the camera anyway so I don't waste battery. I love the ease of use for not only getting pictures onto my computer but getting them uploaded to whatever photo sharing site I'm using.

The grandparents love it also because they get to see their kids/grandkids having fun on vacation in near real time.

The geolocation is indeed based on wifi access points so it can be spotty or downright wrong at times, so you have to be wary of that feature.

Is that $42 card used? You can get them through Amazon (link) for $47. I've seen quality control problems where cards just simply didn't work when people got them, but Eye Fi customer support is pretty good and simply replaced them with new cards, so if it is indeed a used card it might be something to look out for.

We use them at work. Nice, but MAKE SURE YOUR CAMERA IS COMPATABLE!

The Sanyo I use for a child's photography class and a samsung camera I have are not, neither is my daughter's Kodak camera.

I love them, but they are a bit finicky sometimes. But once you get them set up, they are great! The only issue is that on vacation, you'll need a router the card knows, meaning, you'll likely need to bring your own wireless router. I use mine with both my Verizion Wireless MiFi and my Mobile Access Point on my DROID X, so I take the ap with me wherever I go.

I've got a freind who uses one with her Nikon DSLR and she has some issues with it. So like said, be sure it works as you want it to with your particular camera.

Thanks for the insight....

My camera is on the "approved" list so I think I am OK there.

I have a portable d-link wireless router that I set up at AKL so that everyone has internet access. I'll also have my my Droid X and my sone will have his Fascinate. One of them will be a hotspot for the ride down. That should do the trick, right?

Yes the droid x an the eye fi works great. You can set up the eye fi card with a nuumber of networks and i always find it easier to set up my cards when the networks are present but if you are a geek you can set it up without the network on.

Make sure to remember you have a limit of 5 computers on the dood x hot spot and the eyefi card will count as one of your five.

Guess I am off to find a bargain eye-fi... the one I originally found is gone now.:sad1:
