Extremely happy with Alamo rental!

I just wanted to post that we were extremely happy with our car rental with Alamo! We rented a Full sized vehicle from May 14-25 (12 days) for $155. When we arrived at the garage the staff at Alamo directed us to the Full sized aisle and told us there were a few mini-vans if we wanted. We were so happy as we really wanted to rent a van but it was a little more costly. The family we were travelling with also got a mini-van and rented a full sized vehicle. When we returned our vehicle, it was so quick and easy and we had a nice gentleman from Alamo take all our luggage (2 families) on a cart up to check-in. So nice and friendly! We will definately rent from Alamo again!

You need to join their Insiders program which is free. Use the member ID you are assigned, also use the Insiders corp code of 7015820 plus if you search on the thread about May car rentals there is a $40 off coupon. We got a mid size for 8 days for a total of $84.00

As Shelley wrote in the previous post, those are the exact codes I used with my Insiders # (20% off code 7015820- and $40 coupon AD4027JD0). When I booked in February, the price was $268 and I kept checking up to a week before we left and it dropped to $155.

Got the same deal (a little bit more due to Memorial weekend) and found a small SUV in the full size aisle (Hyundai Sante Fe). At least three Grand Caravans in the aisle when we picked up our car on Friday! Very happy with Alamo!!!

I agree, Alamo has really gotten a lot better. The week of Easter, we rented a midsize for $125 total for the week and ended up with a jeep. The midsize selection also included several vans, suvs and full size vehicles.

I booked a midsize for a week in March with the Insider code and coupon. The grand total after taxes was $92. That is by far the best deal I've ever scored. The lower price popped up about 2 weeks before we arrived and it was after 10pm on a Friday night. The funniest part of it all was that I already had a pretty good deal with Budget for about $150, which was way down from where I started at $400. That Friday night I was bored and all of a sudden I though I would check the car rates....I couldn't believe what I was seeing.


I was a touch worried about fitting in a midsize but when we got to the garage the row was mainly HHR's which have lots of luggage space.
