:wave2: Hi Ryan! My first beach vacation was to the Outer Banks when I was less than a year old (not saying the year). We live maybe 3.5-4 hours away and about the same distance from Williamsburg. I'm glad that you had fun.

Geffric---Busch Garden has great coasters (well I have not been since 1999 even though I have relatives that live close by the amusement parks.
I still prefer Disney over BG.

Slo---great artifact--you are lucky. I don't know what artifact would suit me.

:wizard:s&k'smom---I'm thinking positive thoughts.

I have never read or did any audio books of Harry Potter--did watch a movie or 2 that ABC had broadcasted.

Hi NCBelle  .. Eric is pushing for BG.. hope there are enough coasters to make him happy. We are going to do the 6 flags the day before too. Are there discount tickets for BG?

Remember that this is my almost 12 year old ( maybe switched at birth) :confused3 who never ever wants to go to Disney again- not thrilling enough for him- but wants to do Universal IOA. (That's one of the reasons why Geoff and I are going in Novemeber., of course, the fact that geoff has the time off and Eric doesn't plays into too)..:rotfl2:

I haven't check for BG discounts lately---Wendy's/maybe Giant's (grocery store chain in MD/VA) used to give discounts to various theme parks---need to check web site.
There are plenty of coasters at BG---Loch Ness Coaster is the classic---I have not really rode most of the coasters. NC Beast was too tall/big to fit Apollo Chariot on our last trip (coasters not really pooh size friendly like Disney), but that one looked cool. Alpeingiest was NC Beast's favorite in 1999. I had chickened out---I feel uncomfortable with most coasters with the shoulder harness.

Gotta tell you in secret that I am a HUGE IOA fan. I had a tag tattling on me about it too for a while. I am right there with Eric. I had plenty of years where that would be the only place for me. Then my wee one came along and well, now I have to relive Disney and I am loving it again. But I had been going since it opened every year - so about 32 times and when IOA opened I was HOOKED! I went opening weekend and fell in love with the place. I guess I had had enough of Disney for a while.

But before you all hyperventilate I now realize that in my time off from WDW there has been sooo many things I missed that I could do it again and again and again for a while now......... well...........

that is until my kids get old enough to do IOA ;)

I don;t know what i was thinking, totally out of character.. how could i miss this...

Now mind you that i told everyone that I would not NOT micro manage this trip at all. I have done all of the trips for the past 15+ years, it is some one elses turn!! . Nope, not gonna check a map or look up anything at all.. just tell me what time and I'll be ready to go and show up when and where they tell me.... it is totally up to DH and Eric to plan, map it out, and make the reservations etc..

So I have been so busy that i haven't done anything.. before Eric left , he wanted to go to Busch Gardens to ride the coasters. Scott wants to see the sites in DC. So they have been discussing this loudly for days. For some reason, we thought that Williamsburg was near DC. ( yep midwesterners all the way, no idea where anything is) Well today, i just could not help myself, had to peak!! Had to go online and see what I could do for BG... So I went online and can get a 2 nights of hotel and 2 free tickets for $99. Great deal !

But then i looked at a map.. Busch Gardens is a loooooong way from DC and Ft AP Hill Va.. so BG is off the list.. So I went to mapquest for the directions, followed along on my big Rand McNally map...But .. I can't believe this part..we are driving right by Hershey PA.. the home of Chocolate!!! ME driving by and not stoping at the chocolate town?? I do not think so!! I have to stop!!! I have to go to Hershey's Chocolate World http://www.hersheypa.com/attraction...late_world.html
I can win over Eric by telling him that we will go to Hershey's Park and he can ride the coasters there.. Oh no!! I am doing it again.. now I am micro managing the trip... i need some chocolate!!

Think I go and clean the frig out of the french silk ice cream.. anyone else need an ice cream?? We have Mudslide, Mint Chocolate chip , Chocolate and peanut butter, Chocolate chip cookie dough..:mickeybar

Geffric---Hershey Park has great coasters and water park rides as well as a zoo area. You can get free samples in the factory tour (its not the real factory---that stopped decades ago). The monorail used to go into the old factory, but ended maybe in the late 70s/early 80s---it just goes around in the park/no stops. It is not like Disney's. The shows used to be good--its been a long time that I been in regular season. Hershey park used to sell a lot of local PA favorites like Lebanon Balogna sandwiches.

Hershey the town has Kiss shaped street lights---at least near the park.

By the way: We used to go to Kings Dominion (a park north of Richmond) a lot when dh and I lived in Alexandria---KD is like 10-15 minutes away from Fort AP exit and VA Beach/Williamsburg was like about an hour in addition (depends on the speed trap situation). My FIL used to be based in AP Hill when he was in the National Guard a long, long time ago. Pack plenty of bug repellant for Fort AP.

Hi friends, the interview went well just not to much money. Why is it the job you know you can get never pays enough and the job you really want you don't get, wha wha wha. I could use a dip in the m&m pool right now.

Thanks everyone for the congrats on my new artifact - it's so fun to have :teeth:

Tonight we all went to Oberweiss for ice cream for the first time. I had a waffle cone dipped in chocolate (and the chocolate was really thick) and then I had a scoop of mint chocolate chip and a scoop of chocolate brownie inside. I have a bit of a stomach ache now - but it's a good type of stomach ache :)

s&k'smom - I'm glad your interview went well, it's just a bummer that the pay is not very good. The rewards of your job will be outstanding though. My girls daycare teachers are not paid real well either, but they love their job very much!!

Danauk - I can't believe that you finished the new Harry Potter book already - that's amazing!! I love to read, but ever since I have had the girls I never read books anymore - I just don't have the time and if I read before bed, I get through 2 pages and I'm falling asleep. Someday when my girls are a little older, I can read all day long :)

geffric - have fun being an empty nester for awhile. It's always nice to have a little peace and quiet for awhile.

ohanafamily - Hi!! I'm PMing you right now to ask you a computer question.

To everyone else - I hope you are all doing well!!

Alright, I gotta go - have a good rest of the night and talk to you all tomorrow.

slo

Hello my friend!!

 Mad4Mickey. Where you been lately? Ian's been asking to meet you!!!

Morning guys,
Just dropping by quickly to leave some breakfast (fresh pasteries and juices today.) As many of you have been complaining about the heat I have also arranged for a Kitchen Sink to be sent over from Beaches and Cream this afternoon for everyone to share.

So today is our schools fun trip out to the local amusement park. The kids enjoy it and they love the fact that I will go on all the rides with them (my assistant hates the rides so we work well as a team, I do the rides, she is the bag lady!!)

So I guess I better zoom as I am running a little late today. But only 2 days left with the kids and then 6 weeks off!!!!

Have a great day everyone, I'll be back later to catch up on any news.

Good morning, another hot, humid day. Boy it sure takes the energy out of you. But all the more reason for ice cream.

Good morning :sunny:

Danauk - thanks for breakfast and The Kitchen Sink - yummy!!! :goodvibes Have fun at the amusement park with your students.

Have a good day everyone!!

slo

s&k'smom sorry about the job choices.. It is something that we all face at one time or another, do you want to take the job that will be enjoyable or make $$$$$. Somehow it never seems to work out that it is the same job...

I am in Data Minig training today.. see ya later!!

s&ksmom, Sorry it doesn't pay enough, teachers are never paid enough... I am including day-care work in that...

slo, I will see if I can get the code added later on, but I sent you an easier way....

Danauk, thanks for breakfast...

OK, gotta run...TagBabyIan wants to play
:jumpimg2:

Whaaaat????? Cheeringmom is back???? Hey guys! Yep back and in Florida. We had a hell of a trip. I am so sick of Florida already! We were welcomed by TS Christy or something like that then a madatory evacuation for Dennis. Will this madnees ever end? We are having trouble with mail delivery etc! UGH. Anyway, just thought I'd give a shout out to you all. I missed ya. Thanks for the PS Robin. You made it so much easier to find you.

Anyonce care to recap the last month I was away? Anyone sick? vacationing?

BTW Sam had a great graduation. Sorry to see her senior year come to an end.

Anyway, good to be back. :cheer2:

Hey there Cheeringmom, we have missed you...

It has been a real quiet summer!!! Other than a quick relocation of our threads; the island was finished, a couple of people had trips to WDW, DL, a missionary trip, and a trip to hawaii. Otherwise, not much has happened...

My family is headed to WDW on 10/22, we are meeting with the NC's, ED, and whoever else we can convince to join us on the 24th tentatively at Ohanna; I was looking for HuggaBaloo's phone number to call him. I was also wondering if you wanted to join us? we are trying to figure out how many for a PS...BTW, there is a slight chance that LittleMissPreggers, this time it isn't a joke might even be able to join us. Hey, A guy can hope..... Besides, don't you want to introduce SAM to TagBabyIan???

Seriously, let us know if you want to join us...

:jumping2:

CMom- How's Sam doing with orientation??? How are you doing with it????

Good morning everyone :sunny:
