When Extreme Makeover-Home Edition sends a family to WDW,which resort do they use?I am guessing that it is not a Value resort! :)

Good question. I am betting it's not a value resort either. My guess would be a Deluxe. Maybe the Contemporary?? I am sure since Disney owns ABC that the rooms are free to the show.

I bet they (the show) has to pay. Disney is a huge corporation, and one division probably just does not give things away, as that effects the bottom line. The number crunchers probably want it clear which parts cost money and which parts made money.

I saw the BWI episode... and I also saw one where they were at the GF. I think one might have been at CSR too. ;)

A friend of my daughter went on the Yolanda sp? show concerning mothers needing a break back in 2001 This friend who was in her mid twenties at the time had adopted four grils(sisters) and already had two boys of their own. We live in a small town so this was a big deal. They went to New York just a few weeks after 9/11. The show gave the family a trip to WDW and said it was worth $25,000. I thought, yeah right. I then started planning our trip and found out how this could be possible! They gave them two rooms poolside at the Poly. I don't remember exactly how many days it was for. Needless to say those kids had the time of their lives. I'm sure they will never get back down there. The show went off the air shortly after that!!

You got to think that really its a commerical for WDW as well. They are going to put them up in the best that they have. Its not like it really costs them that much really. Plus the All Stars are usually pretty busy could you imagine the hub bub with a TV crew added. and if Ty came down to ask the family a question.

Question for everyone, do you watch the show and if the family isnt going to a disney property or cruise do you turn it off?

I watch the show. I think it is great what they do. The Disney ones I really like. They were just here in the Atlanta area. My husbands company donated all the lunch for the crew every day. My husband told me I could go and deliver the food but the timing didn't work out. I would have liked to have gone. It would have been neat to see how things work. Apparently, you can't just go walk up and see things. Things are pretty blocked up for a few blocks. I'm looking foward to seeing that episode in March.

I am guessing it is a deluxe, doesn't Disney still own ABC so its a win win situation for them.

Yes ! I started watching the show because I caught a glimpse of a family going to Disney and sometimes I switch channels when they send the families somewhere else. I really enjoy seeing bits of Disneyworld on the show. :rotfl:

I feel a little sad too when they don't go to disney. Got to have may disney fix. :earsgirl:
