extreme home makeover....

lisa..what was your favorite episode so far?? mine was definitely the father/husband that they had come back from iraq..cried my eyes out!!

...an update on the one they're doing here in the Bay Area: The reveal is tomorrow. They held a fund-raiser yesterday to buy the furniture that they want for these kids. This morning's paper said that they're even putting in a pool! I just might drive over there on Monday afternoon to see all the excitement - they said they want a big crowd for the reveal - I just don't think they were planning on people from two towns over to show up!

I was in tears when I heard that the donation of furniture was renigged (sp) for that Bay Area house. How awful, how could anyone do such a thing. I hope that the fundraiser got them eveyrthing they wanted a more.

wow..i cry and get chills every time..im such a sap!!!!i cant believe they saved that one piece of furniture from the beginning that was soo broken...what a transformation..

Someone told me that all of the homes have been in California. I haven't seen every show. Is that true? Just curious.

My fave episode (I have not seen them all), was the one with the older woman that did a lot for the community.

That was when Sears came in and gave everyone down the block new bedding, etc. due to a flood.

I loved it when her son got down on his knees and thanked God for everything that was given to them.
Priceless.

What a wonderful thing to do.

I did not hear about this - what a shame! Is this the episode coming up next Sunday?

Oh and I love this show too, my 2 favs are the one where they put in an elevator for the son and the Iraq dad. :) I liked the one for the flooded city too - very touching!!

They raised $50,000 on Saturday afternoon (according to the Times). I think that'll be enough to finish furnishing the house. TV Guide recently had an article and said that the crew had never gone out of Southern California. So this one in Northern California is a first. They were considering several different locations up here, and settled on this one. It will either be shown late in the "season" or as a special during the summer.

Well, I didn't know that! I didn't realize they were only going to do CA homes. Dang. Guess that means our chances of being picked are pretty slim, huh? ;)
