Tuesday night at 10 p.m. is an hour long Extreme Couponing:All-Stars series premier where people compete to see who saves the most money. How long until we see even more restrictions on coupon use? Will you be watching?

Also Wednesday night at 9 p.m. is a one hour special called Extreme Cheapskates.

They've already screwed up couponing for us --- I'm seeing more and more coupons that say "DO NOT DOUBLE OR TRIPLE" lately and it just aggravates me to no end!!! Why should a manufacturer care if a store doubles or triples the coupon!??!?!

The grocery store I go to only allows 4 of the same coupon to be doubled and you can only buy 4 of the same item at the sale price. Anything else rings at the regular price. I think that's a fair restriction. I just hope they don't put anymore restrictions on anything.

You should also see some people's faces when they see my coupon binder -- you would think I was some kind of criminal. One woman even asked me if I am an 'extreme couponer'!!!! I told her no, but I do enjoy saving $50-$60 per 'big' shopping trip and maybe $15-$20 on a small trip.

I agree that they have so ruined couponing for those of us that try to do it the right way. I've noticed that alot of stores i shop at have pulled on the leash of couponing it makes me mad i also see alot of no doubling or tripiling this and that coupon.

Pretty soon because of this show there will be no more coupons and if there is the stores won't accept them.

I agree with the previous posters, they've already ruined couponing for those of us who do it honestly. I never have more than 5 or 10 coupons when I go on my weekly shopping trip. Ever since these Extreme Couponing shows started airing it feels like when I hand over my coupons its like i'm trying to commit a crime or something. The cashiers pour over the coupons, which I understand, but don't roll your eyes and act like i'm doing something wrong. The .25 doesn't come out of your pocket. I haven't used grocery coupons for a couple months now. Not sure if i'll go back to clipping them or not. Maybe after this extreme fad goes away.
BTW...NONE of the stores in my area double or triple coupons. I know they used to maybe 20 or so years ago.

I kind of doubt that. Manufacturers make the coupons so people will have a incentive to buy their products, store's allow coupons (even my local grocery store makes their own coupons and even have ecoupons partnered with Red Plum) so that people will come buy the products in their store. stores also get that money back plus a little extra for "scratching the back of the manufacturer".

I've noticed couponing classes at the library who teach the real way and which stores have which policies.

I do agree that the show. and people who are ignorant and don't know how to read the disclaimer at the beginning and nieve to think that store's don't "bend" their policies just so they can appear on the show have actually been the ones to help give the regular couponers a bad rep.

I've had one person who rolled their eyes and I asked them if they wanted to void it all out and perhaps seek some medical attention since they seemed to have something wrong with their eyes, all with a smile on my face. but this is the same person who for someone who was in customer service didn't want to be helping, not sure if she got canned or quit.

I am no way extreme and have no desire to have 5 billion toothbrushes. however, I do coupon regularly and since no one else is paying my bills but me, I will continue to do what I can to save money. I don't clear shelves, for one,it's rude and another my store has a limit of how many like items you can get.

As for the no more doubling and tripling, a few places around me will double (if the coupon is applicable to a certain number) but you can't blame that on the show. I recall years ago coupons had no expiration date, but the manufacturers changed that because they wanted people to buy the products faster.

I don't know about where the rest of you live , but where i'am located the paper have less ans less coupons in them every week. That used to be one of the main reasons that i got the sunday paper, like the rest of you i'am bnot an extreme couponer nor do i want to be, but the show does dig into the side of the people whr do it they way that it is supposed to be done.

We don't have any type of clases here that teach anything on couponing. It's fend for yourself and learn as you go. Our stores don't double around here so there is noway possible that i could even come close to saving as much as these people do.

Our stores double no matter what the coupons say so that hasn't changed for us at all. I just notice more people doing it which is a bit annoying but what can we do? It's their right. There are much less deals out there than there used to be at this time last year... rebates & such.

I still coupon but not extreme I do well on certain items and others its hit or miss.. BUt I did really well yesterday at target with chirstmas clearance.. kleenex was on clearance because of the christmas dec and I had coupons so I got 3 boxes half off plus my coupons plus my target 5 % with card.. so I got 9 boxes for price of 3! my family doesnt care whats on the box! same thing with the soap! and then scotch tape was half off and I had coupons for that too ended up with 15 packages of tape! ( I donate some to school) we use tape alot!!!! so it does help to coupon and watch ads but its still a pain!

I don't watch that show at all. Like all reality shows, it's staged and very obviously not real life. And any show that seems to encourage behavior that is not only wrong, but criminal, doesn't get my time.

I live in the Southeastern part of Virginia and the past 2 Sundays, no coupons, but I all ready expected there to be none as I look at a Sunday Coupon preview website that shows what circulars and what coupons will be in them.

Apart from the past 2 weeks, I usually get at least 1 coupon circular every Sunday. I also belong to 2 coupon trains here on the budget board. I give expired coupons to military families who can use them over seas and use them up to 6 months after expiration date.

My store won't double coupons, but there is one store that will double coupons up to .99.every day with 1 day that will double to 1.00. 1 store will have a double or triple coupon week with a certain limit of coupons that you can use.
