So we arrive March 7th and I've promised the kids one day at MK but want todo it before the March Breakers arrive (we go annually at this time and that weekend crowds seem to double). So we will go Thurs the 8th or Friday the 9th but Thurs is an EMH AM for MK. Would you purposely go Friday Or do guests know to choose not to hit a park on the EMH day? My experience tells me to go Friday. Thoughts?

we like night emh for the magic kingdom early emh are good for photos
i think you would be okay on the thrusday

We would go on Thursday and catch the EMH ... an early start with less crowds means we get more done!

Are you going to have park hoppers? The ideal thing to do is come in for the EMH and hop to another park if it gets too crowded. If not and you have a good plan you can do your most important things before most of the other guests arrive at the park.

I'd go for rope drop Thurs. for EMH and head for your fav attractions, use fast passes, and get out of there around 10ish when crowds start to build to a less busy park. Assuming it's not your only MK day. I don't know your plans, but if you only have 1 MK day, then I'd go Friday and avoid EMH.

Are you staying on site? If so, I'd take advantage of the early EMH and go to MK on Thurs. If you have park hoppers, all the better ... you can switch parks late morning if they crowds are too big.

If you're staying offsite, I'd probably wait until Friday, unless there was some other event bumping up the Friday crowds. I doubt morning EMH makes a HUGE difference, but I like to maximize my chance of low crowds as much as possible.

Have you checked Easywdw for their suggestions?

Sorry, to clarify we are staying offsite so EMH isn't an option so rope drop isn't an option. That's why I was leaning to Friday. No hoppers either as we are only doing 1 Disney Park this a year:sad1:

If you are off sight ... I would avoid EMH then. There would be no benefit ...

March 8th is going to be busy because of early EMH AND the Main Street Electrical Parade.

The only way I'd go on the 8th would be if I can be there @ rope drop AND consider the Electrical Parade a must-see.

I think the 9th would have lower crowds.....

I agree. If you can't use the EMH it make no sense to endure the higher crowds that they draw

I usually avoid EMH even if I stay on site. Seems like all the resort people go to that park even if they miss the EMH.

It is March Break somewhere every week of March. Ours in MB this year is March 26th??

Ontario is always the second week of March as are the states of Texas and Florida ( they are there every year at the same time as us). later March will no doubt be a bit busier as you approach Easter and you get more "spring breakers". I think our break is early. Best measure is Disney park operating hours. They see to be able to gage when the crowds willbe there and add hours accordingly.
