Extra towels

Another option I did not see mentioned was to pay $10 to have your trash emptied and towels replenished (along with soaps) every day. We always pay the $10/day when we are in a studio since it seems the towels are never dry due to the high humidity! I have also noticed when we do this most of the mousekeepers will leave extra towels if they notice we are using all of what was left the previous day. When in a 1 or 2 br we put the towels in the dryer when needed.

I agree--I use my towels at home for 3-4 days before washing, so why can't I do that on vacation? I admit that I do use the dryer to dry my towels in Florida, but I don't find that daily towels are necessary.

And that friend that needed daily towels--next time let her provide them by paying cash for either the room or the towels. Wow, for someone who stayed in the room for free(I assume) she was being awfully demanding! Are you planning on inviting her in the future?? :sad2:

Nah, she didn't stay for free...she insisted on paying for her studio. So I charged her $800 for Sat-Thursday. Not a bad price. But, alas, no fresh daily towels or bedmaking in that price!!! No, I don't think she is going to want to travel with me anymore. We have very different 'styles'...good buddies, but just different.

We had 7 in an OKW 2 bedroom, and it ended up with five of us trying to store our towels in the 2nd bedroom's bathroom, and there never did seem to be quite enough places to hang them up in there. But the worse problem was this:

At home, we have a wide variety of towels - we are casual people and don't have matching towels in the bathrooms, pretty much ever. So it's easy to remember "Oh, I was using the blue towel" or "Oh, I was using that flowery towel" but all of the towels at WDW look pretty much the same and I think my DS7 kept using my DH's towel (which was damp, but maybe hanging closer to the shower? Even I would sometimes forget which towel was mine based on where it was hanging and would then grab a fresh one. We survived, and I don't think it's something Disney needs to correct in any way, just thought that it was funny that THAT was our biggest problem with the towels.

I do think that if we can get our friends to travel with us in January, with 8 of us in a in a 2BR villa, I will get at least one extra towel pack. Though those pool towels are nice too ;) - where are the moralistic pool-towels-in-rooms threads? I haven't seen anyone complain about that yet, but I suppose someone certainly could! :duck:

I just have to say that I am one of those that refuses to use a towel twice. I don't reuse a towel at home and surely won't reuse one on vacation. I just bring 3 extra towels per person incase I don't have time to wash. We drive and have the extra room so it's no big deal.

Both at home and at DVC I will use a towel twice, but after that it just seems to stay too damp. At night I use the disposable make up removing cloths, but in the morning I need a fresh washcloth to wash my face before putting on makeup. I then usually use that cloth at night for my shower, but that's still one washcloth a day.

I bought a cheap pack of washcloths at Walmart, a dozen for $3.99. I take them on every Disney trip. They are different colors, so don't get picked up with the Disney white ones by Mousekeeping. Just lay them over the sink or side of tub when done, until they dry, then pack with them the dirties to bring home, and repack for the next trip.

Sometimes when hubby and I stay in a studio, we have plenty of towels. Other trips when I take my sister and nephew, we run out of towels. I always buy the $6 towel package. What's $6? It just makes life easier.
