I know there have been threads on this in the past, but our lovely search feature can't find any of them. What extra items do you bring with you to the villas? Things like coffee filters, salt/pepper, etc. We'll be leaving in 4 days (woo hoo!!), and I'm just going over the final lists....I don't want to forget anything.

Also, any opinions on the new bath soaps/shampoos?

Thanks so much!

We bring coffee filters and water - not very exciting. I thought the new shampoo/soap/conditioners were GREAT!!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 They actually clean and condition your hair - something ye olde Mickey shampoo never managed to do. They're probably not big enough for more than a few days though.

If you are staying in a one bedroom.....we bring laundry detergent, we tend to do lots of laundry while there, and take home all clean clothes (with the kids, we are usually tossing in towels alot!). Also, during our recent stay at Hilton Head we had asked for a blender, as there wasn't one in the 2 bedroom. They had no blenders to give us. I'd check with where you are staying to make sure they have one if it is something you use.

And.....hangars.

Have a blast on your vacation!

Diane

I bring salt/pepper, coffee filters, laundry detergent and an extra dish towel and dish cloth. I put all those kitchen things inside a 2 qt. plastic pitcher along with some tea bags and Splenda. The villas (1 & 2 BR) have one 2 pt. pitcher, but we need two, one for tea and one for lemonade or something for the kids. I don't know if housekeeping would bring us another pitcher if we asked - but since we drive down, I always just bring my own.

I'll be in for 5 days at BWV in early May, then we're heading over to Vero. for 5 more. Both times in one bedrooms villas. Will there be a washer/dryer in our rooms?

Flashlights,

and a board game (no electricity), cards...

Just in case, Goldi

We always bring a flat griddle for cooking pancakes or french toast. Also I like to get disposable cake pans, we like the Pillsbury cinnamon rolls you heat in the oven. We are big breakfast eaters. I know the kitchens at OKW have blenders in them. I don't know how good they are, we never used it.:confused3 Coffee and coffee filters are a must for me.:surfweb: I do not leave the room without having my coffee!!!

We also bring a really cheap, brightly colored fitted sheet for the bed. We put it over the bottom sheet that is already there. I can't stand waking up with the bare mattress exposed and I admit that we don't make the beds every day of our vacation.

Thanks for the replies everyone...I've added a couple items to my list!

one trick I learned on one of the boards is I put the amount of detergent into a ziploc. i do a load each day, so all I have to do is pull out a ziplock and pour in. This way I have the right amount for each day without carrying extras. I do label the stuff and include a small tag from the box it came from..I figure ziploc baggies with white powder at the airport may look odd
The extra ziplocks can come in handy for junk going back or wet stuff or preventing stuff from getting wet at the parks. We learned on another group the power of ziplocks. We adopted from Russia and while there where we stayed had NO ice..talk about suffering I love my soda with ice. We got clever and filled a ziploc with some water, froze and then broke into pieces
I use them to store meds and keep make up or bathroom stuff or liquid items apart from dry goods

When we eat out at disney the first day we run off with some s/p and sugar packets for our room. So, I don't carry those, just "pirate" them :rotfl:
We aren't coffee people. I do pack and bring bottled water. I can't stand the water in FL. In fact, we fly and one suitcase going down is drinks/water/snacks..then emptied it becomes souvenir case. works for us

I will bring spices in zip lock bags. My DS likes cinamon/sugar combo on his toast, bagels, etc. So I will bring the cinnamon. I bring a lot of spices with me to HH since we cook a lot there.

When my son was younger - night lights. Now my father 76 travels with us - and we bring them for him.

Hello Sammy, J.D. here. I don't know if you have heard this!?! A private company is offering storage to DVCers who frequent the resorts. If you find out thier web site you can order a large plastic box to be brought to your room at the end of this visit and put your belongings in it for your next visit. That way all the stuff you don't want to lug around will be brought to your room upon return. I'm sure someone on Dis has thier web site. Have fun and enjoy!!! J.D.

Try the snack size zip-lock bags, they are perfect for detertgent and spices and you do not waste the larger sizes.

Also, check out the Owner's Locker service mentioned on the boards and you can leave many of these things there for each visit.

We bring a collapsible hamper when we go for longer visits. I also bring some large bath towels from home.

I am staying at OKW for the first time since I was a young teen (didn't pay attention to it then), and was wondering, do you have to wash your own towels in the 2 bedroom villas, or does mousekeeping still come everyday?
