I keep reading reviews of people with extra snack credits leftover at the end of the week, and I'm trying to figure out WHY. Some have reported having as many as 32 leftover. I know you are getting a lot of food between your CS and your TS each day, but wouldn't you just use the snack credit for a bottle of water sometime during the day? Or are all of you just not drinking water at all (though I find that hard to believe in the summer heat) or are you paying out of pocket for bottled water? (which I find that hard to believe too since you could get it for free). Maybe you all are bringing in your own water bottles each morning? Just trying to figure it out. I know that we all go through about 2-3 water bottles each during an entire day at Disney (not including water at meals), so we are not going to have ENOUGH snack credits to cover our water and will have to pay out of pocket each day.

Am I missing something? How are you going through a hot day at Disney without water? :confused3

I'm glad you ask! I have been trying to figure that out also. Anyone???

Great question! I plan on using my snack credits for bottled water.....

I've been wondering the same thing. Even if someone wants a snack that isn't included and has to pay out of pocket, they'd still need to wash it down with a beverage? No?

Now that you mention it, that IS a good question!! I keep hearing about people packing their suitcases with dozens of rice krispie treats to bring home....didn't they get drinks in the parks?

We had six snack credits left over. We did not waste our credits though, we got juice and chips for the trip home.

Now for how we ended up with six credits left. It was me, DH, and DS(9) together. We would get one or two bottles of water or coke and split it among the three of us. The bottled drinks get warm quick in the parks and I can't hardly drink water once it is warm. With the three of us splitting we would finish it before it got warm. We also carried one of those Brita sport bottles and kept ice water in them for us to sip on.

Also a time or two we went to a cart that was not set up for the dining plan or the computer was not working, so we had to pay out of pocket.

We brought our own water, thinking we would eat snacks with the credit, but we rarely got hungry for snacks, between the heat and the big dining plan meals. We started to use them for water our last 2 days. We got some "mice crispy treats" as my ds calls them to take home as souvies for cousins. wouldn't have had any credits left if we could have used them our departure day for soda and snacks for the road, but we got up very late and the food court was crazy, so we decided to skip it. If we had not had free dining it would have been another story! LOL
Does that answer your question? I bet most people are not using as many as you would think. The 24 oz bottles of water are pretty big.

We had five snack credits left over. We did bring some water bottles with us inside the parks. Sometimes we shared a soda bottle, or a root beer float.

Sometimes we were just to full to eat just another thing.

Great question. I was curious too. We bought at least 5-6 water bottles (24oz) a day.

We had 6 credits left over too (just got back yesterday). I thought we'd use them for snacks also, so we bought a case of soda and a case of water!!!!! We did bring 3 bottles each day in my cooler and then at night I didn't bring the cooler, we'd get water if we wanted too (using the credits). If I were to do it again, I'd just use the snack credits for water/soda each day.

We met friends a couple of days. We used 6 credits on them also to get mickey bars. We did get 4 rice crispy treats to bring home at the end also.

Just to add to my post earlier, we brought Mountain Dews from home to have in the room. DH and I just couldn't go a week without a Dew. We also bought the refillable mugs at POP for coffee, frozen cokes, and such. So the only place we had to use a snack credit for a drink was while we were in the parks. Also everyone got a soft drink of their own for lunch with the CS, and a lot of drink refills with TS dinner.

For some odd reason we paid for a couple of drinks OoP the first or second day. :confused3 It was not that hot when we got there but was supposed to get hotter later in the week. I think we were trying to save our snacks for later in the week when it was hotter. It would have made a lot more sense just to use them and pay out of pocket if you need to later.

We always use our Brita bottle for water, so with snack credits we will probably use some to buy some water and still use the Brita.

We got mostly waters. We got a couple of sodas and three ice cream treats. The ice cream was hard because it melted so fast. We shared the waters and pops. We also bought some frozen lemonades and waters when a cart that took the card wasn't around. We had a few snack credits left. We had planned on getting some sodas and waters for the drive back but forgot to before we left.

I think when we go we will mostly use it for water bottles. DS always begs for icecream at the carts but it melted within a minute anyway and makes such a mess !! :earseek:

Last day we had 18 credits left used a few on water and Ice cream eaten at last visit to MK and picked up the remaining 12 Rice crispy treats.

WHY? We took two cases of bottled water, so everytime we headed towards a park we started with one bottle each. And snack wise desserts with every meal tend to make park snacks not so demanded by the kids. I would say that Water/soda was still what we got most followed by Ice cream for the kids and a few Popcorn orders.

I doubt we would have had any leftovers if the Plan allowed Pretzels, Dole whips/floats, Churros and other pastries that looked great all over wdw.

We were one of the people with 32 extra snack credits. We ordered 2 cases of water from staples. In the evening my dh got ice and filled our cooler and added some bottles of water. In the morning we would have something very light for breakfast if at all. We would take 2 bottles of water for each of us in the park. It was not such hot week last week. THe waters stayed cool. Lunch, which we tried to have on the early side, we used our counter service(which in many locations gave us large drinks). We were very stuffed after lunch until dinner. Dinner was such a large meal we could not even think about having anything else for the rest of the evening.
We are big eaters and there is too much food. The day before we left we did get rice krispie treats and some bags of chips to bring home. That day we also had an extra drink and icecream at the pop.
We loved the free food. If you do not bring drinks into the park, then I can see using all of those snack credits.

We ate a late beakfast in the parks using 2 cs sharing for 2 adults 2 children. The CS give you desrert, which we usually traded in for icecream for the kids. Ate a late lunch using again 2 cs for all 4 of us. Again getting pop corn or ice cream later before leaving the parks. Now remember we got 2 large drinks each meal and 2 desert snacks that we left for the kids. The drinks were so large with the meals that we usually had some left over and had to carry it around the park. Between these two meals we had tons of food and drink and found no need to really use the snacks. Especially when we had a TS dinner the night before. Now we have gone the entire day not using any snacks. When they were starting to add up my DH and I started getting ice cream with the kids in the parks using our snack credits. On the last day we purchased water, treats, chips etc. for the ride home using all the left over snack credits.

We just got back last week as well. We had 3 snack credits leftover and 4 CS's.
The reason being that we used our CS's for breakfast but one morning ds had leftovers from the night before and then we shared some TS's to have an extra 'round' of credits (TS for CM's). We used these CS credits the last day and put it in the cooler and had dinner for that night's dinner as we were driving home.

As far as the snack credits, we brought our own snacks and thought that we'd have our CS breakfast and snack through till dinner, not having lunch. However, we were not hungry after breakfast and in using our own snacks, we really couldn't put another thing in us. However, we then got smart ;) , and decided to only use the 'free' snacks. We brought so much of our stuff home but that's ok.

As far as getting bottled water for our snacks, we had water bottles that we filled each day and put iced tea mix in. I'd rather use snack credits for other things and not drinks to begin with. Secondly, I hate plain water and needed to flavor it. We had more than enough to drink with our 32 oz btls, so yes, we did drink and didn't dehydrate.

I also think that some have extra credits for snacks because they may eat 3 meals...breakfast in the room, perhaps. CS for lunch and then TS for dinner. That is alot of food and you wouldn't need snacks. Also, the CS and TS meals come with desserts.

We had 4 snacks leftover the last day which we would have used but due to the gas problems we was afraid we'd face we left that morning rather than waiting till the next morning.

We also had a counter service left over we went to the food court at our resort got a breakfast platter and a turn over that we shared with that.

The snacks we got 4 mice krispie treats for the DD's and SIL at home gave those to them after supper and they got their tshirts. You'd have thought we gave them a $100.00 think they liked their mice krispie treats more than the tshirts lol

The free dining is almost to much food. DH and I did not eat at any buffets only could eat the food brought to us and even then usually did not eat it all we didn't have room.
We used most of our snacks for breakfast got us a cookie icecream from cart in the park.

We had 12 snacks left over upon our checkout a couple of weeks ago. We stocked up Mickey rice crispy treats. The main reason that we had so many left over is that many of the snack carts were still not equipped to take the cards, or were not working properly, so we ended up paying out of pocket for drinks. It was not a big deal! It just gave us a chance to enjoy more magic when we arrived home!
