My Family and I will be staying at a villa at Animal kingdom and my MIL has decided to go also. The only available on property rooms are at the values. She doesn’t plan on doing the parks with us but wants to resort hop to check out the decorations and go to the Christmas party with us. Long story short, can I get a room key for her to stop in our room to hang out while we are away and do laundry?

What kind of villa did you book and how many people are staying in it?
It is a Savannah view and there are already 5 of us in the room so I don’t think they would let us add her. Looking for a cheaper room for her to stay in over by Disney Springs or on property but would like to have her be able to come to our room to relax and visit.

That's a tough one, without her being included in the reservation I don't think you will be able to get a card or MB access for her from the AK front desk. I think the only way you could do it would be to lend her one of your MB (which would impede your park visits since you would likely need that to get into the parks). It may be possible to ask the desk for a card with room access and maybe say you lost your MB but then you run the risk of them asking too many details and verifying that you've moved everything over to the card associated with your MB. I don't know about that one. As easy as a MB makes our trips to disney sometimes for situations like this, it's a bit tough.

Also, keep in mind, you can continue to use those old bands.

I have 3 of the new style and many of the old. I use them all interchangeably.

We do, lots of them but they are the old style.

Doesn't matter what style they are. They can be used.

I keep my old bands in our owners locker. We invited my aunt to stay with us last minute in December, and while she was put on the room at the checkin area at GFV, she was given a card. I just grabbed a band for her. Worked perfectly for her to enter the room.

Do I need to have the band at check in to get it activated? Thank so much for your help!

It never hurts to ask at the front desk for an extra key. It was a few years ago we had a 3 bedroom ha villa booked and they had an issue and had to change our reservation up to a 2 bedroom ha and a one bedroom. Standard. The two bedroom. Was at capacity because my ex son and I were in he one bedroom.
When we checked in we explained that we had plans to do all the cooking in the 2 bedroom and we rotated who came back and cooked. They gave my ex and I keys to the two bedroom and my parents keys to the one bedroom

following.... it will be interesting to see if they let you do this, they seem pretty strict on how many people can stay in the room, i hope it works out for you.

It doesn't sound like the person is staying in the room. She has her own room at another resort. She will be sleeping there.

I don't know any hotel that stops you from allowing friends and family to visit your room. And this is what the OP is asking about.

Oh ok I thought she was sleeping in there I doubt they will care if she visits lol my bad I misread

If you use one of your old MBs for her, just make sure it works on the door before giving it to her. We have had to have the front desk work on some of ours when they wouldn't work on the door. It wasn't a big deal, but did take a stop to the front desk. Some CMs said it was because we had so many active ones the system couldn't handle it. Other CMs said that wasn't the case, that the system was just glitchy. Either way, they could fix it.
