My family could really use some extra good thoughts! We've been through a difficult time recently!
The minor stuff: We bought our house in July ( we had rented this house for 2 years before purchasing and had an inspection). We now have a leaky roof and a broken boiler (no heat!) which will cost a pretty penny.
The major: My eldest child recently spent 2 weeks in the hospital and is now being treated for a chronic illness. Many of the specialists in this area don't take insurance so we are paying cash and hoping insurance re-imburses something (obviously we're more worried about the illness than the $$$ but the $$$ is stressful, too). Having an I'll child has been hard on all of us - my younger 2 children are feeling quite neglected right now. Additionally, my DH and I were supposed to go on our 1st cruise to celebrate my 40th birthday (we were leaving NY on Saturday night for a Sunday cruise) and had to cancel due to our son's health. The cruise is non-refundable (I usually take out trip insurance but ths time I didn't - go figure). Again, my son comes first but we're so stressed out that we were really looking forward to a break. (My job has become much more stressful over the last 4 months and I used the thought of the cruise to eel me going!)
Today we got more bad news. Our beloved black lab, Buffy, has a tumor. We're hoping it's a benign tumor but we don't know. She'll have a biopsy next week and then we will find out if it's cancer or not. Regardless she will need surgery to unblock her intestines (it's a partial blockage and she seems well so we are hoping for good news!). Another necessary but pricey expense!
We are living in constant stress right now and would love any pixie dust and good luck!
Thank you!!!
Amanda
