Let's say I have 240 points, but I need 250 points for a particular stay. Other than borrowing from the next year, is there any way to "buy" the 10 points I need for that one vacation?

You can try to see if another member can "transfer" those points to you. Or, you could rent points for one of the nights from another member, and then have it linked to your own reservation.

Yes, you could rent or transfer

The only option Disney offers is paying for one ( or more) entire nights with cash through MS. (where there may or not be a member 25% cash discount), but you cannotuse points for half a night, then pay cash for the other half night.. (Of course Disney would rather sell you a contract of 25+ more points, so they do not offer an easy, efficient rental)
