For those who travel by Amtrak to DW, there is a great special going on now. If you are renting a car and you rent through HERTZ (with a special code), you get 200 points per day toward amtrak for every day you rent the car and 25% of your rental car price.
I just reserved a Toyota corolla from 6/11/14 - 6/23/14 at $378. That is the best price I have found so far and I have been checking daily for 2 months now. An added bonus is that the location I chose will pick me up at the train station, so no taxi needed.
This special is only good through Aug 31st.
