Extra people on ADR

We were originally a group of 12, but now we are a party of 10 and at some point we will only be 6. I tried making the adjustments with Disney and they advised they would have to cancel the one I have and then try for one with the less amount of people. I could possibly lose the reservation. I feel bad not needing the larger tables and would like to offer the seating to someone if they want to join us, obviously do a separate check. Is there a place on disboards where we can do this?

Call again. You can call and ask to reduce the number of people in your party. I've done this before when I booked a party of 10 and reduced it to 5 for one of our reservations. Did not have to cancel the one I originally had. They just reduced the number.

I just called and asked what would happen if my party reduced and they told me it would not impact the part of the party who could still attend.

I had to cut a bunch of ADRs from 12 to 8 people and kept being told it couldn't be done. I felt bad tying up a whole table for 4 that we don't need, so I kept calling. I finally got a CM who said it was no problem, and put me on hold while she had her manager manually change the party size.

If this ever happens in the future I'll just ask for a manager from day 1. Good luck!

I will call again today and try another CM. I had called twice and was told the same thing, so I thought I could not do it.

Shouldn't be a problem to MODIFY it. I've called several times to take people off of my reservations. Just make it clear that you don't want to cancel and rebook but that you want to modify the reservations. If the CM can't do it, another CM will be able to.

I don't understand why it's an issue to modify a reservation either... just seems like a weird issue.

If all else fails... you aren't penalized if your entire group doesn't show up. so you can keep the reservation for 12 and only show up with 6.
