Extra memory card....where to store?

I am bringing an extra memory card.

Should I bring it in my luggage, or in my carry-on?

every camera gear (minus tripod and chargers) are carry-on for me.

I have a cousin who works for an airline. He tells me there are two kinds of luggage: Carry-on Luggage and Lost Luggage. I'd put the card in Carry-on

I always pack all of my camera stuff in my carry-on. The TSA web site recommends that you do not pack electronics and fragile items in a checked bag, and I'd say that a memory card qualifies as both.

If you are concerned about screening, the TSA web site also states that the screening equipment will not affect digital cameras and electronic image storage cards.
