Extra Magic w/o Resort

We are using our time share, so we are not staying at a WDW resort. (One day we WILL!) Anyone willing to share their tips for keeping the magic going outside of the parks? I had thought about getting into the condo before kids and sprinkling magic dust on their pillows. Any other ideas?

My brother and s-i-l stayed in a condo a few years back and they got their kids stuffed characters of their choice to decorate with. They got the small beanies at TDS before they left and packed them for the kids to decorate with.
