Extra Magic Hours

Hi all! I'm just wondering if anyone has used the extra magic hours on a trip yet? They sound great, but I'm wondering how well they're monitored (ie. do the parks really clear out at night except for resort guests). I'm planning a trip to WDW for my mom, sister, and myself (their first time down to WDW) and am wondering if the extra hours are worth the price difference to stay at a Disney resort. We'll have 4 1/2 days at the park and it looks like we'll be able to use extra night hours 3 of those days and 1 extra morning hour (so that would be 10 extra hours of park time), but we could also get a good and REALLY cheap accomodation not at Disney.

I have not yet taken part of the new EMH. However, we have attended several E-nights in the past at the Magic Kingdom. They do not "clear out" the parks. Disney resort guests receive a wristband to wear that lets the Cast Members know that you are entitled to ride the attractions. We were going on Space Mountain during the beginning stages of one E-night and the people in front of us were turned away at the entrance of the ride because they did not have the wristbands.
In my opinion the EMH is a definite plus for Disney resort guests. The old E-nights had a charge (around $12.00) but this new version is free. I note that you will be at WDW for 4 1/2 days. It's not possible to do everything in that time frame. The EMH would add a great deal of enjoyment to your stay. You could get some really good prices at the value resorts. We did EMH at Epcot and at AK. In both of those parks, we had to show our wristbands to get on any ride. I felt like it was well monitored.
