Does anyone know if the WDW Extra Magic Hours schedule for future months (in my case September) is etched in stone ? or do they change it closer to the dates ?
Oftentimes EMH get added to existing dates, but existing dates don't typically get taken away. That said, when it comes to hours posted more than 30 days out, Disney etches them in mud, not stone.

For example...all the folks who are so joyous right now about getting PPO BoG reservations around Christmas will be fussing like crazy when Disney moves regular park opening to 8am, and EMH there to 7am. Either opening time completely negates any PPO advantage. It happens every year, and they fuss about it every year.

If you're looking just a few months out, I wouldn't expect the ones you already see to change. As others commented, you'll see last-minute additions around major holidays, but that won't happen in September.
The one change most likely to occur for the time you're going is that WDW might decide to extend the nightly EMH at AKL's Pandora into September.
We go every December and they change the opening times to earlier than advertised and add in more EMH usually. They have never changed the day of EMH once advertised just the times and frequency.
We know this so take the advertised hours with a pinch of salt. I tried to research it a few years ago and read (can't remember where, sorry) the finalised hours are published around beginning of the third week of the month before, so we go by that rule now.
Last Oct, Disney changed opening to MK from 9am to 8am, which opened up Mine train FPs. Got one for 8:30am. It was within a month of the trip. So keep checking.

Things definitely do change at the last minute. They may add EMH. They dont normally take away, BUT, i could have swore that one year they did....they swapped a late EMH with another park? or took it away?? I cant remember exact details. Sorry.

For seasoning Christmas visitors like myself I know this happens every year and it's really annoying (still), however I'm sure some of the people 'fussing' are first timers and not aware of the time change that awaits them. When it first happened to us with CP in MK, we were gutted and cancelled.
