How many people think it is worth it for the Extra Magic Hours?
Every time we went the crowds were very bad. Half of the park open and every person staying in a resort comming into that park.

i have find that if you make it to the park at opening for early extra magic hours you can through a bunch of the attractions without much wait. late magic hours work if you are willing to hang around till park closing. crowds start to thin out quite a bit the last hour or two the park is open.

we were at Disneyland this Christmas and I found that making use of their Magic Morning worked great. We were at Disneyland at park opening on 12/23 and made it through all of the E ticket attractions and almost everything else in the park that day. but for the early entry days to work you have to be there when the park opens.

I did XMH at Animal Kingdom this December and was able to practically walk-on to Everest 4 times! I'd say it is worth it.

The extra magic hours in the morning are the best. At least they were in August. The EMH at night seemed to be more crowded than during the normal hours. I like the E-Ride tickets nights better than the EMH. You had to pay evtra, but I thought it was worth it.

It would be nice if they would open the whole park considering the crowd size in the evenings. Like you said more people less to do.

I agree. Morning EMH were best over Christmas in 2007, too. We walked on rides all morning, or had minimal waits. By 1:00 parks would begin to get crazy busy (especally Animal Kingdom!) so we left and did other Orlando things.

If you can get to the park at opening for morning EMH, it seems you can get a lot done.:thumbsup2 But, if you are not there by opening, I'd say hit another park because it gets crowded quick! Evening EMH at MK always seems pretty busy to me...but we've had great luck with EMH at Epcot!

The best part about EMH - it siphons off the crowd for the other parks. I use the EMH schedule to picke where I won't be going that day - namely the park with EMH.

I like the evening EMH for MK & Epcot but not the morning because I can't get the wife moving that early. I agree with Jim's strategy though, EMH parks are usually more crowded!.

Same here.

I have been to extra magic hours in the evening..but simply because we were in that park to begin with, it worked out fine. The morning hours...it's been YEARS since we even attempted that again. Too crowded.:headache: Not worth it to us.

We have done both, and I will ALWAYS do the morning hours! We love them! At the MK, we went in and did buzz x2, stitch, COP, TTA, indycars x2, and peter pan before the park "opened". The crowds didn't even start to build until around noon. At Epcot , we did all of the land and sea before we even started to see lines. And at AK, GO STRAIGHT TO THE SAFARI!!! There were 10x more animals out in the early morning, and lots were eating right near the road.

We have done evening hours, and to me it is NOT WORTH IT, you have to wait for a wristband... spend time in line to get it. The park is packed all day with people waiting for the EMH's. , and it doesn't really thin out till you late, and by then we are all to tired to care LOL.

Another plus, depending on what time of year, if you go to a park for morning EMH, and stay, lots of people will leave to go to the other park with evening EMH. So it is a win win.

I agree that it is lots better to go to the parks that don't have the evening EMH, you will get to do lots more there than at the emh.

I guess we hit an abnormal time when we were there in April. We avoided most of the EMH, except for 2. We stayed at the evening EMH at the MK and the crowd was lot smaller than regular hours. Was great, and I got DD11 to ride Thunder Mountain b/c there was no line and she didn't have time to back out.

We did the AM hours at AK, just because I forgot to check my schedule that day and we didn't realize it was happening. Thought we'd be there at rope-drop, then discovered the mistake. Couldn't move an inch, it was so bad. Anything would have been an improvement.

We love Evening EMH when the parks are open late anyway. Midnite - 3am at the Magic Kingdom is a beautiful thing!! I have never found any value to the evening EMH at Animal Kingdom, cause 5pm - 8pm doesn't help. Studios is good when it's 11pm - 2am, and Epcot is OK from 9pm - midnite, gets better about 10:30pm

We really made use of it in May 2006 when we had teenage kids along with us. They didn't get moving till almost 1pm anyway, so I spent a bit of morning time alone at the parks, then came back and rousted them up. Then we had a good sit down lunch, then enjoyed whatever park had late EMH. It was great!!!
