Just looked at the park opening times for July and I can't work out the extra magic hours. Are the opening times shown inclusive of the EMH? they don't appear to be. How do I know if the EMH is am or pm and for how long?? Sorry don't understand as we've never used the EMH before. Also do we make use of the EMH or as some busy day guides state does it then make the park too busy and is thus best avoided?
:confused3

If you go to the WDW site it tells you which parks are morning and evening EMH, mornings are 1 hour earlier than official park opening and evening after 3 hours later than official park closing. I prefer morning as once it gets too busy we head off elsewhere. Evenings can be busy as people linger after closing time and it does seem crowded at times.

Here is the WDW EMH info for which days are morning and evening EMH's.

I did think just add 3 hours on but for instance Friday 6th July park hours are 09.00 - 23.00. Add on the 3 hours pm EMH and it now shuts at 2am ? Is that right??

Blimey,. Never been in the height of summer with such long opening hours. How does everyone approach this? I'm thinking maybe a few hours in the morning - back to the hotel or something else relaxing and then back to the park in the evening - can't see us staying til 2am though! Or would it be best to have a relaxing morning and then hit the parks late afternoon??

You can't burn the candle at both ends. The evening EMHs tend to be more popular (read busier), although I guess those with young children are more likely to go for the morning ones.

In the heat of the summer you really need to pace yourselves :)

You plan seems to be the best way of handling the heat and taking advantage of the long park opening hours :) Remember that in the afternoon/early evening there may well be a thunderstorm :)

We are hoping to make the most of the EMHs morning of 22 June last friday of the Star Wars weekends and the 24th June evening at MK (DH's birthday) and Typhoon Lagoon EMH evenings are another possibility:thumbsup2

It will be the first time we wil have chance to use them since we are WDW hotel guests .... you need your resort keycards to get the wristbands found at various locations to either do early entry or stay after normal park hours if you have not used te EMHs before:goodvibes
They will ask to see them from time to time (wristbands or resort keycards) if you don't have them you can be asked to leave I'm gonna make sure ours are safe ;)

I think EMH are definitely worth doing but, so I'd say "yes," take advantage when it fits in with your plans... BUT, if your plans some days don't include EMH, then it's best to avoid the parks with EMH, as they will be the busiest.

We try to plan our EMH days so that, for morning EMHs, we get there for opening and then leave by late morning and either hop to another park or go back to the hotel / swim / Downtown, etc. For evening EMH we don't get to that park until a couple of hours before the extra hours begin. That way we hope to avoid the worst of the crowds.

Hi never done emh's either!
If doing an evening emh would it help to go later?
e.g. MK has emh till 2am, could we stay in pool & then go to mk at 11pm?

Only thing that worries us about going in later is that if the park has reached max capacity they will turn people away, so if you go back to your hotel room you may not get back into the park you left previously:laughing: you might be better off going to Epcot if you were in MK (this tends to get very busy)gonna do some reading about the whole EMH nights and see what the trends have been before this summer;)
