In the final stages of planning and just had a chat with someone who's just back from Disney - he mentioned Extra Magic Hours - both early morning and late evening - said that it would be best to avoid these days if you are not staying on a Disney Property as it gets very busy. I'm basing my planning on the Busy Day guide on this site and in Simons book - does the Busy Day Guide take into account these Early and Late Entry Days or should I be looking elsewhere on this site - the Park Hours page seems to be a bit ambiguous as to what time the parks actually open and close on these days!

EMH is one hour before or three hours after the published opening times and the parks can get very busy on those days. I would try and visit any park on the day AFTER evening EMR.

If you aren't staying on site then avoid them........I'd only ever go for the morning options again - I was in MGM during an EMH in June and it was much busier in the evening.

We did an early morning EMH in Epcot once and found it a complete waste of time from a ride point of view. Everyone headed straight to Mission:Space and Test Track and the lines were huge with Fastpass times moving out to past midday!

The evening EMH seem a better bet, especially if you haven't got younger children. We found that MK crowds thinned out quite a bit later on as families with young children left.

My advice has always been to avoid EMH days (previously EE days) regardless of whether or not you're staying onsite. I doubt anyone ever takes any notice, but it really is the best way of avoiding the crowds. In fact, if everyone heeded my advice, it would no longer be true!

It does get very busy. It gets very busy if you're staying offsite or onsite! The parks are significantly less crowded on non-EMH days. They're less-crowded whether you're staying offsite or onsite. Am I making my point? ;)

In mid week I often have a lie in and we go to a non early entry park, or as said transfer to another after taking advantage of it, they should open two parks at a time or have it different days for different hotels???
