Extra Magic Hours - Epcot - Question

We will be at WDW on September 1st and since we'll be getting in around 1pm or so I thought that Epcot would make a good choice for that day since they have the extended magic hours in the evening. But once I started thinking about it, what exactly is the point? lol I mean, obviously being at the World longer is great but since many of the attractions are in Future World and they close at 7pm I'm trying to understand what we could actually do with those extra hours as just walking around the World Showcase is fine but not something I would want to do for an extra 3 hours! haha

I'm probably all messed up on this and there is plenty I'm missing as this was an unexpected trip. We've been the past 2 years and this year since we went to Hawaii back in May I didnt expect to be coming back to WDW so soon so I haven't really "been on top of it" in terms of research! Any help is appreciated!

Most of the rides in FW are still open they even reopened fastpass for us a few weeks ago for TT and Soarin .Some food places and store start to close but thats it .

They also reopened Character connection for EMH

In May, we got to EPCOT on an EMH evening about 8:45 or 9:00 p.m. We thought we would just tour the World Showcase & watch Illuminations. Imagine my surprise when we got there & saw many Futureworld Attractions were open!! DS8 decided we would ride Spaceship Earth right away!!

That's the "norm" in FW.

EVERY night of the year (EMH or regular hours) Space Ship Earth, Test Track, Mission:Space, Soarin', and (just recently) The Seas' Turtle Talk do NOT close at 7pm, but stay open as late as WS.

On EMH nights, add Journey Into Your Imagination and HISTA to that list.

See, I guess I didnt realize those rides were still open in FW after 7pm. That's great news to me though! Woohoo, should be able to get a few more rides in that evening after Illuminations! :)

Everything you probably want to ride will be open during the extra magic hours. But the last time I visited Epcot during evening EMH (Friday, March 17, 2006), the park was packed, and the lines were every bit a long as they were during the regular hours. Hope you have better luck.

Enjoy.
