Extra magic hours: does Disney ever cancel them or just add?

What I understand is that Disney posts EMH about 6 months in advance, but they've been known to add other ones at the last minute, true? Do they ever cancel the ones that were originally posted? I make ADR's next week and don't want to schedule them at park open!

Yes they may cancel the EMHs that were posted. Most of the time it is a change of schedule so perhaps they decide to swap Epcot and MK for that month or whatever. Hours are never guaranteed.

They just moved around EMHs in January, switched around evenings for Epcot and DHS.

They change, add, and cancel EMH at times.
I've had it be cancelled 1 week prior on an MK day.

You can expect additions the closer you get to your date, especially during the summer. Expect park hours (not just EMH) to change as well. It's always wise to have a back up plan if you are thinking about booking a PPO breakfast, or just book a later breakfast.
