Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom

Hi

We always stay in a villa outside of the Disney accomodations so in the past we have always avoided the EMH days.

However, when the hours are in the evening, we have always wondered how the park, in particular MK, makes sure that only the guests from the Disney accomodations are allowed to stay in the park and use the rides. For example, do they ask to see your room key when you attempt to go on the rides?

We will soon be heading to Florida and it looks like one of our days at the MK is going to be on an EMH, so we just wanted to know what happens and if a burly security guard is going to escort us off the premises if we don't leave on time!

Disney hotel guests have to collect special wristbands from nominated areas - they show these when going on a ride.

Other guests are directed out of the park - but you can still wander & browse in the shops on your way out.

Right...buy you won't be allowed on any rides w/o the wristband.

I am unsure if you are actually alowed to enter the park after official closure or not if you dont have a room key? We have turned up with our room key and been allowed to enter but not sure if youcould without.

Once the park closes to the public, you are not allowed to enter w/o the wristband on EMH days/nights.

we were in a park until way after midnight and we didnt have wristbands and went on the rides

For anyone already in the park, the CMs don't have any real interest in ejecting those who just want to stay for a wander around. As others have pointed out, you can't experience the attractions without a wristband, so most will leave the park of their own accord. The CMs will point folk in the right direction, but if you were determined to stay, you wouldn't have much trouble - the handful of guests doing so isn't going to have any impact.
