Each day one of the Disney Theme Parks opens an hour early or stays open up to three hours after regular park closing
UNQUOTE

what is the meaning of the UP to three hours?
It's three hours or ... what?
Thanks

I have been wondering the exact same thing. I have also heard that some parks open at 7 am (2 hours early). Has anyone else heard that?

I thought the buses started running at 7 a.m., one hour before the park opens for those staying in the disney resorts.

We went to EMH at MK last week. Park closed at 10pm, but for resort guests it was open until 1:00 am!! It was great! We walked on to everything except for Space Mountain (waited 20 minutes) and Big Thunder Mountain. No Fast passes are given out, but you don't need them! You must show your resort ID and they give you a wristband- you then show your wristband when you enter each ride so they know you are not trying to "sneak" on! The park seemed so quiet and it was cool out which was a refresher! We were glad we stayed up late!

The morning EMH is one hour before the posted time. The evening hours are three hours past the posted time. I guess the "up to three hours" means that they can shorten it if they have to. I have never read that it has been less than three hours.
The buses in the morning do start something like one hour before park opening. However, there are earlier buses making special runs to the various character breakfasts. There is much confusion over this and the CM often give out the wrong information. Tyler, a Disney bus driver, gives out the correct information on the transportation board.

Do you have to be in the park at the time of closing to take advantage of the EMH? In other words, if AK closed at 7:00 but we didn't get out of dinner until 7:15 would we still be able to go to AK and get in for the next 2 1/2 hours? Thanks

You do not have to be in the park at the start of the evening EMH. Wristbands are given out something like 2 hours before the EMH starts, but you can go to the gate anytime after it starts as long as you are staying at a Disney resort. You can obtain your wristband at the time you arrive and stay for the rest of the evening EMH.
